Three miles from of the market town of Rhayader which offers a range of shops, restaurants and boasts riverside walks, Welsh Royal Crystal, Gigrin Farm and the Red Kite feeding Station. It is the first town on the River Wye and gateway to the spectacular dams and reservoirs of the Elan and Claerwen Valleys. Activities on offer include walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, wildlife watching, photography, arts and crafts, music, festivals and the famed carnival. Within easy reach is Hay-on-Wye, Royal Welsh Showground or take a trip to the coast on the Old Mountain Road to Aberystwyth. A perfect location for outdoor activities, family attractions, special events and to explore the Cambrian Mountains and Brecon Beacons.
The front door of this attractive cottage opens directly into the inviting lounge/kitchen/diner full of charm with the oak floor and beamed low ceiling. The open-plan lounge area offers a large comfy sofa to relax on after a busy day exploring, lose yourself in a good book, listen to music or watch a film on the TV, for cosy nights in why not light the wood burner. The kitchen area is well-equipped with electric oven and hob, solid fuel Rayburn, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine (use of a freezer and tumble dryer are available on request). If you decide to eat in the dining table is perfect to enjoy a meal and plan you holiday activities or why not treat yourself to a culinary delight created with local ingredients by the owner/chef who is available with prior notice. After a full day out unwind in a bubble bath in the stylish bathroom with shower over bath and WC and then enjoy a good night’s sleep in either of the bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other a twin zip-and-link (which can be made as a super-king-size on request), both have lovely views to wake up to.
Outside you can enjoy al fresco dining, maybe light the charcoal BBQ, or morning coffee at the table and chairs in the front garden with established trees and shrubs or in the enclosed back garden with lawn, surrounded by rolling countryside. There is ample parking on site and a lockable bike rack. 1 dog is welcome to be kept on a lead whilst outside due to livestock near the property. Please note the property is accessed via a farm track which may not be suitable for all cars
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
