Situated in the village of Goodrich, home to Goodrich Castle, a fine example of a Norman castle which is maintained by English Heritage, and houses a range of rare Civil War artefacts. Just a few miles from the property is the Symonds Yat Rock, an ancient hill fort affording spectacular views over the Wye Valley, as well as picturesque forest trails. Just a short distance away, is Symonds Yat West Leisure Park, a fantastic location for a day trip, with its river cruises, adventure playground, amusement arcades, go kart rides, and plenty of room to explore, run around, and play games.

This property offers comfortable accommodation spread across three floors, for three guests, with some interesting period features. On entering the property, a few steps up lead to the ground-floor bathroom, where there is a shower-over-bath and WC. Stairs lead off from here to the master bedroom, a lovely double room with an ornate wooden bed and large floor-to ceiling windows which flood the room with light. The staircase leads on to the first floor, where guests will find the cosy lounge, with its impressive vaulted ceiling, exposed brick work, corner sofa, TV, and DVD. The kitchen/diner is also located on the first floor and offers an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave. Curving stairs lead to the mezzanine floor, from where the single bedroom overlooks the first-floor living space below, and across to the surrounding countryside from the windows.

Outside, guests will be able to relax within the pleasant surroundings of the spacious shared gardens, where there are a number of benches and picnic tables which guests may like to use to enjoy alfresco drinks or meals. There is also an onsite shared laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Off-road parking is provided.

Property was clean, comfortable & in a beautiful location, close to local amenities & great base for exploring further. Staff were polite & friendly. Walls are thin, our neighbours argued & stayed up late, we heard arguing & swearing clearly during the day & this kept our son awake into late evening. The property is in a beautiful location, on the banks of the River Wye with views of Goodrich Castle from the main bedroom window. The clever conversion of the medieval priory has created really interesting holiday properties. Central for Ross, Monmouth and woodland walks in the Forest of Dean. No enclosed area for dogs so unless they are not likely to wander off you will need to keep them on a lead. Couldn't find the nice outside table or seating area, but property was quirky - bare stone walls, bedroom and bathroom downstairs and living area upstairs. Property was in an excellent location close to the River Wye. With two excellent pubs in walking distance that served good and very welcoming to families. Lots to see and do in the area from castles and canoeing on the River with plenty of walking as well. A truly stunning area to visit my 7 year old daughter loved it.

We loved our quirky cottage in Flanesford Priory (although it's not obvious that this is what it was called on holiday cottages website!). It was across 3 floors, which is worth mentioning as we had a mobile 1yr old, and had quite a time keeping her away from the many staircases!
