Super cottage, set in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. Surrounded by wonderful mountain views and great walks, that may just take you passed the local pub and back before returning to a roaring fire.

Nestled in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, with mountains, reservoirs, beautiful canal, great country pubs and views for miles, this detached cottage is an absolute delight. The cathedral town of Brecon lies in one direction and both Crickhowell, with a range of independent shops and Abergavenny, renowned for its food festival, lie in the other. The world famous town of books, Hay on Wye, is a super day out and only a short drive. Walk from your door and up the lane to the foothills of the Beacons with stunning walks to be enjoyed or perhaps head downwards to the super country pub.

On the ground floor enter through a stable door into a hallway where you can kick off your boots, passing a separate WC and then onto the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area has a wonderfully cosy feel, with a warming wood burner, comfortable sofas and a TV/DVD. Leading through to the dining area where there is an additional sofa and a large wooden table, with delightful mountain views. There is a sweet, country kitchen with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and a utility area with a table top freezer and a washer/dryer. Heading down the stairs to the lower ground floor from the lounge leads to the bedrooms and bathroom. There is a double bedroom, a single bedroom, a bathroom with shower over bath and WC and a master bedroom with double bed and shower within the room.

Venturing outside you will find a patio with garden furniture and a BBQ, and an additional small seating area up some steeper steps to enjoy even more magnificent views. There is private parking for three cars.

Well equipped and maintained cottage, spotlessly clean with a handover that didn't involve us meeting, which in Covid-19 times could have been difficult. Also well located, just 300 metres from the town of Talybont on Usk, but very private and quiet. Close to many great walks, the River Usk and the Monmouth-Brecon Canal, good location also for cyclRead moreing. Visited the two pubs and the PO/shop/caf, everyone was friendly and strictly adhering to current social distancing rules. Hide

The location was very good. The cottage was lovely with it's upside down living arrangements which takes full advantage of the beautiful views. We were grateful that milk and a huge bowl of fruit was left.

We enjoyed our stay at Bank Cottage & liked the 'upside down' layout. It is perfectly located to explore the area but you do need to be quite mobile as located up a very steep hill. The White Hart in the village and Coach & Horses Inn in nearby Llangynidr were very nice. The only disappointment was that the additional small seating area from the paRead moretio was non-existent. The garden was so overgrown you couldn't see the seating area or access it plus the 'games room' was damp and not very nice. Hide

A lovely remote cottage. Right in the heart of the national park. The cottage had everything you could possibly need to cook all types of meals and make the holiday stress free.

The cottage was lovely, it had a really nice homely feel about it. It was very well equipt and the beds were super comfortable. The location of the cottage is brilliant with access to the canal path at the bottom of the hill and walking distance to a few local pubs. A very pleasant stay in the Brecon Beacons at Bank Cottage. The Cottage is spacious, quirky and full of charm. Set in a wonderful rural location up a steep hill about 3/4 mile from the village centre which itself boasts a wonderful caf, shop and a variety of family friendly pubs.
