Pretty fisherman’s cottage offering thoughtfully updated accommodation for four guests, situated in the North Norfolk seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea, just a short walk from the town quay.

This cottage is located in the North Norfolk town of Wells-next-the-Sea, a pretty seaside town with its traditional fishing quay, the range of shops, and a wide choice of places to eat. The town’s sandy beach is edged by colourful beach huts and is part of the Holkham Estate, backed by pine woodland and dunes. In fact, at low tide it is possible to walk around to the huge beach at Holkham Bay which featured in the Ben Affleck film ‘Shakespeare in Love’. The quay which is still home to a working fishing fleet is a great place to try your luck at crabbing, or to take a boat trip around the harbour or alternatively around the salt marshes, a wonderfully peaceful journey which is a real treat for those with an interest in wildlife.

The front door of this pretty cottage opens directly into the lounge, a cosy space with comfortable seating, a TV/DVD in the lounge, and a fireplace with a wood burner-effect electric fire. From here a step leads through to the kitchen/diner which has a dining table seating four and a good range of equipment including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. Moving back through to the lounge, guests will find a staircase which leads to the bedrooms on the first floor of the cottage. The first of these is a double room with a 4’6” bed and a built-in wardrobe, whilst the second bedroom is a cosy twin room. The bathroom is also situated on the first floor and offers a shower-over-bath and WC.

From the cottage’s kitchen, a stable door leads out to a small enclosed courtyard garden at the rear of the property which is furnished with a table, chairs, a parasol, makes a delightful space for enjoying alfresco dining. There is off-road parking available for one car to the front of the property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Ideally located for a walking holiday or to go birdwatching. Equally good for just staying in Wells. The cottage is cosy and comfortable and has all you need for a relaxing break.

The cottage is perfectly located in Wells, and the parking space at the back is a bonus as in peak season parking in the town is near impossible! Pretty cottage in a good location in the town. It is a good size (we were a party of two and one dog) and is well equipped. This is a fantastic little cottage, close to the centre of Wells. The cottage is very well equipped with a washing machine and dishwasher and was a perfect Christmas retreat. We were even left a Christmas tree and decorations to enjoy our festive break. We would be happy to recommend this cottage and to stay again.

Overall a nice property in a good location. Bathroom looked tired with some wear on tiles and toilet seat not fitting properly as knocked onto cistern handle when flushing. The windows, frames and blinds needed cleaning. Garden needed attention as overgrown in areas.
