One-of-four traditional stone cottages situated within attractive grounds, in a tranquil rural location, benefitting from a shared indoor pool and relaxing hot tub

This property enjoys a quiet countryside location in the South Hams region of Devon, nestled between Dartmoor National Park, 6 miles to the west, and the stunning coastline of the English Riviera, 10 miles to the east. It is one-of-four holiday properties on site, the owners farmhouse also sits within the grounds. The area surrounding the cottage has many quaint villages to explore, and there are miles of scenic walks to be enjoyed on nearby Dartmoor. Those who want to find out more about the area’s history and heritage, will enjoy a visit to nearby Buckfast Abbey.

The split level property is arranged over three floors and offers wonderfully welcoming accommodation, with attractive period features. Four external steps lead to the property’s front door, which opens into the charming lounge/diner with its exposed beams, whitewashed walls and cosy wood burner. Guests will also find a TV/DVD and iPod dock here for their entertainment. A few steps lead down from the lounge/diner to the kitchen, where there is an electric oven, hob, microwave and fridge with ice compartment. Stairs lead from the lounge down to the lower-ground floor, where there is a bedroom with a king-size bed and an iPod dock. There is also a shower room with WC. This property is eco-friendly and energy is supplied by a biomass boiler and solar panels. For those who choose to do their laundry during their stay, there is a shared utility room on site with a washing machine and tumble dryer, the use of which is payable by an honesty box.

Outside, there is a lawn area with a BBQ and garden furniture exclusively for guests staying in this cottage to enjoy. Guests are welcome to make full use of the range of shared facilities on site which include a fabulous indoor heated pool, a veranda with a relaxing sunken hot tub and sun loungers, from which guests can enjoy the tranquil rural surroundings, along with the neighbouring community woodland. There is off-road parking available for one car.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Unless you have an Infirmity, the steps to the cottage are difficult but managable. All in all we managed and look forward to a visit next May.

If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday then we would highly recommend this place. The Bovey was well equipped and comfortable. The surrounding area is beautiful so there is plenty to do if you want to. Totnes and Dartmouth well worth a visit

We really enjoyed our stay at Bovey Cottage. It was clean and well equipped, and the hot tub and pool were great. Our dog enjoyed the lovely walks around the grounds and the community forest, it was so peaceful. The owners friendly and helpful. A real getaway.

This cottage is set in a beautiful and very peaceful location. The pool area is great with a balcony looking out over a lovely view. There are walks straight from the door take a picnic. The roads are the typical Devon narrow type and you will need your car. I didnt find this a problem. If you want peace and quiet this is the very spot. We were madRead moree most welcome. Hide

The cottage was lovely and in a beautiful very rural location. It had everything to make our stay a comfortably one. We took our dog and it was lovely to get up each morning and go for a walk in the woods that boarder the property. Though very rural you are based very close to some of South Devons best tourist attractions. You are in easy reach of Read moreDartmoor and also lovely beaches and towns. Hide

This is a lovely self catering set up in a beautiful rural part of Devon. The hosts, David and Alison are extremely accommodating and helpful. Bovey is a super little cottage with the added bonus of being able to use the enclosed garden. Myself, my daughter and our new puppy had a brilliant time, all aided by location, accommodation etc. The pool aRead morerea is a real bonus and as there are only 4 cottages, you are never all in the pool at the same time. The cottage is very pleasant, with a lovely host. The cottages has great walks from the door step. and a nice pub with good food a short distance away. This is the second visit to Bovey Cottage and We enjoy it as much as the first.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Bovey Cottage. The cottages were well equipped and clean. Location was perfect. Peaceful, private with beautiful views. The benefit of being able to use the indoor pool and hot tub in winter added to the enjoyment of our stay. The Cottages are perfect, I'm sure all the other visitors have said everthing that need saying. The owners are great and "Oscar" is very friendly. Would recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing break. Thee local village has a great community spirit with shop and pubs.
