This lovely cottage nestles in a delightful secluded spot on the edge of the marsh at Thornham and offers stunning views out towards the sea, and is perfect for watching a great variety of birdlife.

This delightful cottage is set on the edge of Thornham, a tranquil coastal village a few miles to the east of Hunstanton. Nestling in the North Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the village is known for the salt marsh which offers fantastic opportunities for birdwatchers to spot wildfowl and birds of prey. Just a couple of miles to the east is the excellent RSPB reserve at Titchwell Marsh which also features a sandy beach with views across The Wash. A mile to the west is the Norfolk Wildlife Trust’s Holme Dunes site, which is perfect for migrating birds, dragonflies and toads. This is an ideal area throughout the year for walkers, birdwatchers, cyclists, photographers, artists, golfers and sightseers.

On entering this delightful mid-terrace traditional carrstone property, which offers stunning views across Thornham Marsh and out to sea, you will find yourself in the snug and pretty lounge. With an open fire, TV and DVD, this is an ideal space to relax in at the end of a fantastic day. Exploring further you will find a charming kitchen/diner. The lovely dining area is ideal for any meal, and the attractively designed kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The washing machine and tumble dryer are housed in the nearby utility room. The bathroom is also on the ground floor, complete with an electric shower over the bath and a WC. Heading up the steep cottage style stairs you will find three cosy bedrooms. There’s a double room which enjoys extensive views over the marsh, a twin room with an en-suite WC, and a single room which is accessed via the twin room.

Stepping outside you will find a large back garden which is mostly lawn, with garden furniture. Please note the garden is not divided from the neighbouring property. There is also a pretty front garden with a lawn and flower border which is accessed over a small wooden bridge across a dry creek. Parking is available for two cars on the edge of the road in front of the house.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Very quiet, lovely location; yes, as others have commented, some furnishings etc a bit tired, but nothing to worry about! Take basic supplies with you, including salt and pepper - the village only has a fancy couple of deli's. A couple of garden chairs would be nice in addition to the picnic table and bench provided.

Amazing holiday made better by this lovely comfortable cottage. Small and compact but with three good size bedrooms. Might be a bit cramped with young children downstairs. We have a dog and the three of us had a fabulous time. Really near some amazing places to walk but beware that Thornham is very marshy in parts with black mud which oozes into evRead moreery part of a dog with long hair and walking boots. This for us made it even more fun. Definitely will go again and hope to stay in the same cottage. Hide

A basic, slightly tired cottage which would benefit from a deep clean and the replacement of some of the fittings. It is in a beautiful, quiet location which we really enjoyed. Thank you for our stay.

On entering the cottage it is very old fashioned and basic but actually very comfortable (sofas and beds). There were not many TV channels available and would benefit from a freeview box to enlarge the choice. The pots and pans were plentiful and having a dishwasher was a great help, and all tablets were provided as were hand washing liquid. AlthouRead moregh there was not central heating the little heaters provided were very efficient. Hide
