Beautiful, traditionally-built cottage with fabulous views out onto the River Carron, with a cosy, spacious interior perfect for families or groups of friends.

This lovely home is perfectly located for those who are fans of fishing and outdoor adventures. A two-rod salmon beat can be taken with this property by prior arrangement and at an additional charge, subject to availability, so you can enjoy as much fishing as you fancy throughout your stay. Beautiful woodlands and open fields surround this property giving you the opportunity to explore the lovely Scottish countryside on foot with all of the family. For amenities and some lovely eateries, the village of Ardgay is just a mile and a half away and is the perfect spot for stocking up on essentials, and for heading into when you don't fancy cooking.

With an idyllic exterior, the setting of this property is bound to make your stay truly memorable. The sun porch is perfect for drying out wet clothes and muddy wellies before you then head into the main part of the house where there is a lovely spacious kitchen/dining room, perfect for sociable mealtimes with all of the party. The living room is light and bright with an open fire for when the evenings are a little chillier, and the utility room is a great spot for your canine companions to rest. One of the twin bedrooms is also situated on this floor, alongside a separate WC. Upstairs, the two remaining bedrooms, one double and one twin, are delightfully finished with plenty of space and they sit alongside the main bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC.

The garden space outside is a real treat with a lovely front garden that is a real suntrap throughout the year. It is a lovely private space with wonderful views over the river and with garden furniture provided, you are bound to enjoy long summer's evenings spent here dining alfresco. The piece de resistance is an ultra-relaxing sauna situated in the outbuilding which is just ideal for resting tired feet after a day exploring the countryside all around.

 

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The pretty village of Ardgay (1 mile) has a local store and café for supplies, and Bonar Bridge (2 miles) has a small selection of restaurants and a pub.

Further afield, the attractive town of Dornoch (15 miles) has a beautiful sandy beach that's ideal for families, as well as the famous golf course and numerous opportunities for sports and activities, from cycling to sailing.

Whisky lovers will enjoy the short, scenic drive along the south side of Dornoch Firth to Glenmorangie (14 miles). Take a distillery tour or enjoy a tasting masterclass of this world-renowned whisky.

The historic town of Tain (15 miles) lies just beyond Glenmorangie. With its impressive architecture, good selection of places to eat and drink, and interesting selection of shops, it is well worth a visit.

A fantastically appointed cottage in a brilliant location for exploring the highlands. Despite the Covid restrictions the cottage still feels welcoming and comfortable. A great enclosed garden which our dogs loved including investigating the badger/rabbit holes by the trees. The website description should mention that the owners prefer dogs to be kRead moreept in the utility and kitchen as there is a laminated notice in the property when you arrive making this request. Outstanding holiday cottage, we loved every minute of it. Kitchen fully equipped and I didn't need to take half the bits that I did. The cottage is lovely and warm and the children settled in straight away. Spending Christmas was magical, with beautiful setting. We will definitely return again.

Amazing beautiful cottage in the most relaxing peaceful place, everything you could possibly want is in the cottage, spotlessly clean, massive rooms, open fire, huge bathroom, huge kitchen, and a great boot room, fantastic sauna, salmon river at the end of a massive dog safe garden, this really is the most gorgeous place to stay, I can honestly sayRead more this is my favourite cottage yet from cottages and castles, in the week we stayed we actually only saw 2 people brilliant!, village has a well stocked shop but no pub in the village but there is in the adjoining one. I just loved this cottage and will book again ASAP, it's just so relaxing here and you can walk out the cottage and walk to see the deer there is about 200 roaming about and the best bit on this estate is there is no livestock which was even better for us as we have 3 Airedale's Hide
