Just half a mile from the book lovers’ town of Hay-on-Wye, you’re in a wonderful setting, close to many amenities yet with a plethora of walks, cycle trails and a river to explore nearby. Visit Hay Castle, investigate the many bookshops, or head to the Black Mountain for walking and unbeatable views. The galley kitchen/sitting room is a simple yet stylish place for preparing your meals or sharing a glass of wine at the table while you plan your trips out. Snuggle up on the sofa when the day is done, the wood burner roaring away beside you, and watch woodland life through floor-to-ceiling sliding doors. Natural pine furnishings, splashes of colour and plush beanbags ensure this glamping pod is wonderfully warm and welcoming, encouraging you to relax the moment you step through the door. The two bedrooms are made up of zip and link doubles, each can be made up as two singles on request, both are decorated in bright colours and have large geometric windows, so you can wake up each morning surrounded by tranquil views of the trees – this truly is a place to get away from it all.

Step outside for a breath of fresh air and enjoy morning walks, keeping an eye out for local wildlife as you explore the site. There’s a BBQ available for guests if you would like to share a meal alfresco beneath the sun or stars, and ample parking on site.

A beautiful hideaway in the woods. Perfect for a quiet escape but with enough on the doorstep to keep you busy. More than enough room for all of us (2 adults, a teen and a dog). The Cocoon was really well equipped with everything we could possibly need. The fire was even built and ready to light. The bathroom is small but perfectly formed with a suRead morerprisingly powerful shower. A truly beautiful place with a very warm welcome. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. Hide

Cocooned within the woodland providing a very tranquil hideaway. The two bedrooms are a great size and provide a comfortable, cosy bed after a day exploring. Even blankets to snuggle up with on large bean bags to emmerse yourself in a good book. The woodburner provides a huge amount of heat we discovered. The kitchen is a perfect size with everythiRead moreng you need including cloths and washing up liquid. The shower provides a lovely powerful, hot blast with eco gel. Great location for Hay & the Wye Hide

The Cocoon is a well equipped large family sized cabin with a secluded location, beautiful view and access to stunning walks. The whole experience was well organised, friendly and helpful and certainly one that will stay with me and my partner, and our dog (who had a fantastic time). Great location and lodge with the owners on hand to provide any help or information without even knowing they are there. We loved it, thanks.

The Cocoon at Raquety Farm is set in a stunning location. It felt like we were the only people in the world. Yes the kitchen is basic and there is no TV but that is exactly what we were looking for. We actually managed to do a lamb and pork cooked dinner with all the trimmings on Easter Sunday for four people, just by using the 2 gas burners, the ARead moreir Fryer and the BBQ, so it's not an issue at all. Ros, the owner is lovely and the accommodation is beautiful. Loved the log fire too! Hide
