This thoughtfully renovated cottage is set in a National Scenic Area, enjoying peace and seclusion amongst the pretty wooded hills of Perthshire and fabulous views over Loch Tummel.

You'll feel instantly at home when you pull up to the front door of this charming bungalow, surrounded by mature trees and waterside vistas. If you can tear yourself away from the sunny patio, Pitlochry with its shops and Festival Theatre is only 7 miles away, while Aberfeldy (20 miles) offers heaps of family-friendly activities including a leisure centre and cinema for rainy days. Fishing, hiking and water sports are just a few of the more adventurous activities available nearby.

All on one level, the open-plan layout inside the cottage provides an ideal space to get the family together for a board game or a DVD. The rooms are bright and airy with pine floors in the kitchen/dining room, but when the open fire is lit and the curtains are drawn it becomes a cosy haven in which to curl up with a book and a glass of something. During the day, gaze out at spectacular views and watch birds flit to and from the bird feeder from the picture window in the lounge. The two comfortable bedrooms – one double and one twin - share a family bathroom with shower over bath.

Outside, there is an enclosed garden and patio that overlooks the loch. If you're looking for the perfect spot for your morning cup of tea, this takes the prize. Up to two dogs are welcome to join you at the cottage, and the garden gives them the space to roam around and take in the Perthshire countryside too.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We have stayed before at the property and returned for the views/peace. We were not disappointed, it is hard to put in to words just how amazing the view from the lounge and patio are with the trees reflecting in the loch. We enjoyed watching the birds on the feeders and the bat that appeared each night. Pitlochry with a COOP and nice selection of Read morecafes is only 15 minutes away which is great to feel like you are away from it all but also to be close to amenities. We hope to return again! If you truly wont a get away with no neighbours, peace & quiet, with views from every window, look no farther. Creag Mhor is not luxurious, but it has a real homely feel, with all you need for a perfect escape. River & loch side walks are only a short car drive away, but do venture farther a field & be reward, The Birks @ Aberfeldy, The Water FalRead morels @ Bruar, The Hermitage @ Dunkeld, & a bacon butty on the platform at Rannoch Station, to name but a few! We, and our two dogs, found the cottage very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The views of the loch and mountains from windows and garden are stunning (in all weathers!). We enjoyed the many local walks and just sitting relaxing watching birds on the garden feeders.
