Brecon lies in one direction and both Crickhowell, with its range of independent shops and the foodie haven of Abergavenny lie in the other. The Brecon and Monmouth Canal with its pretty towpath runs nearby, or explore the River Wye and the River Usk. Walk from your door and up the lane to the foothills of the Beacons or perhaps head downwards to the country pub. Explore the local history at Tretower Castle and Court, White Castle and Raglan Castle, or spend a day rummaging through bookshops at Hay-on-Wye.

Set over one level with excellent access provisions for wheelchair users, this superb property offers a light and fresh interior that contrasts beautifully with the original exposed beams and stone fireplace. The very spacious and well-equipped kitchen has a dining table and chairs, electric cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer making mealtimes enjoyable, whilst the garden is accessed through the small utility room, equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer and sink. In the evening, light the wood burner and settle down to watch the TV or a DVD. There is also a top-quality sofa bed. The light and airy main bedroom has a super king-size bed, whilst the second bedroom has a single bed. The main bathroom has a bath, and there is also a shower room with wheelchair access.

The enclosed paved rear garden boasts a raised herb bed, and a ramp to the sunny, enclosed lawned garden makes it easily accessible. It's always a pleasure to come here for our holiday and this cottage and the area ticks all the boxes for us. We have been staying in Cui Hen Beudy for about 10 years and never want to go home afterwards. It is clean, comfortable, well equipped and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The owner, Sue, is lovely too!
