Hidden at the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this pretty property is ideal for coming home to, whether that’s after a day of adventurous mountain climbing or quiet village exploring.

As well as being conveniently located just 0.5 miles from the most picturesque route up the mountain of Pen-y-Fan, this stylish cottage is a mere 2 miles from the Welsh town of Brecon, which boasts a majestic cathedral and plenty of unique shops. Getting around on foot or by bicycle is easy thanks to the property’s location on the Taff Trail, offering 55 miles of forest, railway and riverside paths. If there are youngsters to entertain with more than just the breath-taking scenery, Cantref Adventure Farm (3 miles) is full of family-friendly activities and attractions.

Step inside out of the wilderness and relax in the light and airy open-plan living space, lovingly decorated with homely features like the floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, handcrafted using wood from the owner’s field. Rustling up a meal is no problem in the spacious kitchen, complete with electric oven and induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and freezer. This can then be savoured around the dining table, whilst admiring the views of the mountains through the patio doors. When it’s time to put your feet up, sink into the sofas in the cosy lounge, get the wood burner going and unwind, around the TV. The bright double bedroom can be found downstairs, as can the shower room with walk-in shower and WC. Heading upstairs, discover the king-size master bedroom(can be made into twin beds), which has a built-in wardrobe as well as an en-suite with shower over the bath and WC.

Large oak doors open onto a patio area and an enclosed garden with a pretty stream running alongside. Children are welcome to play on the trampoline and play area in the owner’s garden, which can be easily accessed via a gate at the bottom of the property’s garden.

The Cottage was even better than it looked in the photos and in its description. A perfect place for a holiday. The location is fantastic. The owners did everything to make us feel welcome and our stay comfortable. There was freshly baked bread and brownies on arrival plus milk and butter in the fridge. Pen-Y-Fan rises behind the Cottage and its loRead morewer slopes are easily accessible on foot from the Cottage. Hide

Spent a restful week in the cottage which is cosy and adequately equipped but falls short of ""Brecon Cottages"" description. Located down a long, narrow lane, access can be awkward and will probably give you some good reversing practice . Brecon itself is a very pleasant town with friendly locals and lots of small, interesting shops.
