Former dairy converted to a delightful holiday cottage for six guests, located on the owner’s farm in the Isle of Wight village of Carisbrooke, just two miles from the island’s capital Newport.

This cottage enjoys a quiet location on the owner’s farm in the village of Carisbrooke. The village is known for its impressive castle, where visitors can not only visit the Norman walls and keep, but also look around the beautiful Princess Beatrice Gardens and the tranquil chapel, as well as visit the resident donkeys. The central location on the island means that all of the island’s coastlines are easily accessible, with beaches at Sandown, Ventnor, Freshwater, and Ryde all located within ten miles of the cottage. To the north of the cottage, the sailing town of Cowes makes for a relaxing day trip year round, near to which Osborne house is a popular spot with visitors who can enjoy a glimpse of Queen Victoria’s favourite retreat.

As soon as guests arrive at this pretty cottage, they will immediately be able to see just how much effort the owners have put into creating an attractive holiday retreat. The lounge is an elegant and spacious room where guests will find two inviting sofas which sit gathered around the fireplace which now houses a warming wood burner. The TV/DVD is also in this room, making it the ideal spot to relax at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. Moving through to the kitchen, guests will find a farmhouse dining table which is surrounded by contemporary-style fittings which include an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. The conservatory, overlooking the garden, offers a second lounge area which is accessed through the ground-floor bedroom, a twin room, next to which there is a shower room with a shower and WC. Wooden stairs in the lounge lead to the first floor where there are two more bedrooms - a double and a further twin room. Both bedrooms enjoy views over the surrounding countryside, with the double offering glimpses of Carisbrooke Castle. The bathroom on this floor offers a bath, handheld shower, and WC.

To the rear of the property, there is a delightful garden which is fully enclosed and offers both a lawned area and a patio seating area. There is garden furniture, a BBQ, and plenty of space for children to play, but please note that there is a pond, and therefore children will need to be carefully supervised.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

This is a lovely cottage with plenty of space and comfortable furniture. Great for our little dog as the garden is very secure so she couldnt run out after all the interesting animals here - horses cats dogs and hens! There is a nice walk from the house over to the castle too.

Rosemary is a lovely host who greeted us warmly, gave us an enormous pumpkin for Halloween and sorted out an issue with the shower extremely promptly. We all loved the lounge with the woodburner. A very spacious, comfortable and quiet cottage. It was clean and the friendly owner was always on hand for advice and help if needed. The cottage is well positioned to reach all areas of the island easily and had a lovely view of Carisbrooke Castle from the front which was a short walk away.

Lovely cottage with friendly helpful hosts. Plenty of space with nice enclosed garden , though ivy could do with cutting back on terrace. Lovely large lounge to relax in but the cream carpets were not very practical with dogs.

Hada great week here at Dairy Cottage. Ideal, spacious place for a family gathering. We enjoyed the conservatory and the garden in the sunshine. Stotesbury's in Newport does great fish and chips but don't get the large unless it is for 3 of you! Good food at the Sun Inn at Hulverstone with sunset views from the restaurant towards Tennyson Downs.

Another great visit to the island and in particular, Dairy Cottage. It was just as comforting and homely as we remembered made even better by the owners.
