Thoughtfully maintained Grade II listed cottage sleeping four guests with attractive period features and a pretty, enclosed garden.

This cottage is situated alongside five other cottages in a small rural hamlet, just 1.5 miles from the Isle of Wight’s east coast. The tranquil location makes it the perfect choice for those who want to relax and enjoy a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life, and yet there is plenty to see and do locally for those who want to get out and about. The popular beach resort of Shanklin is just a few minutes’ drive away, and offers not only a family-friendly beach with waterfront amusements and beach cabanas for hire, but also has a charming old village where visitors can escape from the heat of the sun and retreat to one of the numerous tea rooms, or perhaps enjoy a shaded walk in the tree-lined gorge of Shanklin Chine.

One step up leads to the front door of this single-storey property, where guests will find a warm welcome awaits. A step up will take you into the charming lounge/diner. A large stone fireplace with wood burner dominates this room. Around the wood burner, there is a choice of comfortable seating from which guests can enjoy the SkyTV/DVD. The French doors opens out onto the garden, whilst the dining area has a beautiful solid wood table which has been carefully chosen to complement the room. The next room that guests will come to is the kitchen, where they will find a range style electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A tumble dryer is also provided in the cottage. The first of the cottage’s two bedrooms is an attractive double room with a king-size bed, whilst the other is a restful twin. The bathroom, meanwhile, offers the best of both worlds with a bath, separate shower, and WC.

The enclosed garden makes a wonderful spot for guests to enjoy al fresco drinks or meals, as there is a patio seating area with garden furniture and a BBQ. There are two off-road parking spaces available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A lovely size two bedroom ground floor cottage style accommodation. Large lounge/ dinning room so enough space for our two golden retrievers. Nice size kitchen to share the cooking and nice enclosed little garden.

Lovely cottage, really well equipped. Dog friendly with enclosed garden. Ours did struggle a bit on the laminate flooring however. Beautiful setting but need a car to get anywhere as a lack of paths on fairly busy roads made walking (especially with 2 dogs) difficult.

The cottage was the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. The garden was very safe for the dog. The location was perfect with all year round dog friendly Yaverland beach only 10 minutes away. The welcome hamper on arrival was very much appreciated. The property also comes with, essential for us, Sky Q and Wi-Fi.

Dairymaid cottage was outstanding. There was everything you needed and more. The owner left some wonderful welcome goodies. She also phoned to see if we had everything we needed. The cottage was in a great location and only a short drive from the sea. There we also some lovely walks near by.

Lovely location. Owners very friendly & helpful. Garden very secure which was reassuring with our 2 dogs. We had fabulous weather for the time of year & enjoyed breakfast in the garden every morning!
