A lovely little space. It may be small but as two active adults with plenty of kit we managed perfectly. Great location as you can walk straight from property up Blencathra and Keswick is a short drive away.

Lovely to have the owners on site and it to be a local family running it. It was quieter than I expected after other reviews. Beautiful view of Blencathra from the window. Functional space well thought out. It has a kettle and toaster as well as a combo microwave (which we didnt even attempt to use!) Great as a base to explore the lakes.

Superb location for a hiking holiday, farm is off a main road (a66) so easy to get to, quick drive into keswick for supplies. Good price for the location, apartment was small but very well laid out, amazing shower (important for post hike!) and basic food options (fridge and a microwave). Spent 7 nights here with wife and baby and could have easilyRead more stayed longer. Hide

Doddick Bothy was imacculately clean with a comfy bed and a great shower. It's very compact but that's to be expected. Also only a microwave for cooking. The website did not make it clear that it is semi detached so there's other people right next door and someone living above we could hear walking about at 7am. It was a lot closer to the motorway Read morethan we expected too. At over 300 for 2 midweek nights I thought it was pricey. We also had nowhere to sit outside, only on the steps. Overall OK Hide

We stayed 1 night out of 3 at this 'cottage'. We were refunded for the other 2 nights which we did not stay for. The property is attached to 2 other 'cottages' with neighbours to the right and above and we were able to hear everything from both of these properties, footsteps, taps running... everything! The mattress was very uncomfortable and made Read morea noise everytime we moved. It was clean and in a good location but not suitable to be attached to other properties with a terrible mattress. Lovely clean and tidy cottage in an excellent location. Only downside was the walls are really thin so you can clearly hear the neighbouring cottage and noise from above. Wi-fi was also quite patchy. Lovely pubs in walking distance and great walks from the doorstep - highly recommend a hike up Blencathra and Clough Head.

Well placed for a walking holiday with plenty of footpaths to join nearby and Keswick a short drive away. Very clean on arrival. Only negative we found was the walls and ceiling seemed thin and could hear both sets of neighbours easily. However the positives out weighed that and will definitely return

The Bothy was a great short stay bolt hole. Well equipped, warm and close to the hills. One big downer was the dreadful mattress on the bed - far to soft, almost like a hammock - almost designed to wreck an ageing back.

Thi accomodation was booked at short notice and was the only place left at that time. We probably would book one of the larger cottages as the bothy was a bit small for us.
