This detached barn has been converted to a high standard, located in a village location just over a mile from the UK’s smallest city, Wells, with its boutique shops, delis, cafes, restaurants and regular farmers market.

Located on the southern slopes of the Mendip Hills, in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and nestling in the grounds of the owners home yet where privacy is assured. This stylish barn conversion offers a great base for Glastonbury and Wells being within easy access of many attractions. It is also within easy reach of the Glastonbury Festival site. Great shopping destinations nearby, Kilver Court, Mulberry Outlet & Clarks Village are all a short drive away. Cribbs Causeway in Bristol is also only a 40 minute drive.

The spacious accommodation is all on one-level. On entering the light and airy property through the large patio doors, you will find yourself in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room. (access can also be through the main bedroom) The feeling is space is only added to by the vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, giving a real character feel with all the modern essentials required to enjoy your stay. The lounge area is beautifully presented with large doors to the patio//garden area with TV/DVD player. Kitchen area, electric over and hob, microwave, Tassimo coffee machine and fridge. (washing machine and tumble dryer can be found in a separate utility room) Dining area with large table ideal for family meals or playing board games of an evening in.

Leaving the open-plan living area, you will find yourself in the very large master bedroom with a super-king size bed. (which can be made up as a twin on request) There are velux windows in the ceiling and large feature window allowing plenty of light in to enjoy breakfast in bed. Through the far door you will find yourself in the entrance hall with access into the second bedroom, with a double bed, that looks out onto the garden and can have a cot put in on request. From the entrance hall you will also find the shower room with shower and WC.

Venturing outside of the patio doors you will find an enclosed patio and garden area with garden furniture and a BBQ, perfect for a glass of wine and al fresco dining after a long day of exploring. There is also a further paddock area with a football goal where children can play. There is ample parking off-road parking at the property and even a secure storage area for bicycles and motorcycles opposite the property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A wonderful barn conversion. Homely, comfortable, super clean, lovely friendly owners. We so enjoyed watching the very amusing ducks and chickens, what ever your age you cannot fail to laugh at their antics. The cottage was excellent. it was very clean and had everything on site that we needed. Set in a lovely quiet village with fields very close for our dog to run around in. Many attractions within an hours drive so there is plenty to do. The host were very friendly and hepful, we would defenitly stay here again

Dulcote barn was lovely, large and well equipped. Mrs Calder was such a lovely welcoming lady. Best of all was the location, a small pretty village with 2 scenic walks into nearby Wells, the best of which went between a few fields with views of Glastonbury Tor on the horizon and Wells cathedral. It was the perfect base for visiting Cheddar Gorge, WRead moreookey Hole, Wells and Glastonbury and not too far from the coast and Bath. A lovely cottage to relax in. Clean comfortable and beautiful view from the patio. Just to bear in mind the cottage has got chickens and ducks on site so there are typical farmyard noises to consider, we didnt mind at all. Having had a great holiday the only thing was we wanted to stay longer, the cottage was a fantastic base to go exploring from. Very clean and well equipped , the owners were very helpful and we loved seeing the ducks and chickens running free in the paddock Can not recommend this place highly enough, will definitely go back.

The property is very comfortable and has all the necessary equipment for self catering. Wells is accessible within twenty five minutes by two footpaths in the village or five minutes by car. The only hesitation I have in writing this review is that it will prove to be so popular that we wont be able to book the weeks we want. But here goes. Extremely comfortable sitting room and bedrooms. Everything you could think of provided in the way of cutlery, crockery and kitchen equipment. Helpful, not intrusive hosts. We choose this property because it was dog and child friendly. The living area is particularly spacious and perfect for entertaining. It was the ideal distance from the City of Wells providing some super dog walks with stunning views of the Cathedral and the Mendip countryside. The owners were helpful and very welcoming. We would book again!
