At a glance

  • A far-flung retreat to the Moors for families or couples
  • Breath-taking views surrounds you from the south facing garden out to the North York Moors National Park
  • A wonderful barn conversion situated in this quiet hamlet, inside is a rustic charm with contemporary touches

Property code: G0173

An exquisitely converted barn that beautifully blends original features with modern comforts, making it the perfect retreat for those wanting to immerse themselves in rural tranquillity.

Sympathetically restored, original features such as exposed beams, stone floors and quirky windows hark back to the cottage's agricultural heritage. However, with its neutral tones, warm wood and high vaulted ceilings, it is light, airy and spacious with a charming, contemporary, cottage style. Located in Rosedale (known for its daffodil walk each spring) in the North York Moors, approx. 8 miles North of Kirkbymoorside, there are 600 square miles of beautiful, heather-covered countryside to explore by foot or by car. The National Park is also home to a wealth of market towns and villages with tearooms, cafes, pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, including foodies' haven, Helmsley (14 miles), and Pickering (16 miles).

On arrival, take time to admire the attractive exterior and position of this property; immediately, you will notice the attention to detail. As you enter, you will discover the open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area, which is a great space for socialising, relaxing or tucking into the generous welcome hamper. In the corner of the lounge, the wood burner is perfect for creating a cosy atmosphere on chillier evenings, whilst the underfloor heating creates a comfortable warmth elsewhere in the cottage. The modern kitchen is a good size and has all the mod-cons needed to cater to your needs. Both of the bedrooms are king-size and have en-suites, which makes this a great property for two couples. The decor is simple, but elegant, thus creating a restful atmosphere where you will find it easy to unwind. One en-suite has a bathtub to soak in at the end of a long day and the other has a walk-in shower.

Outside, the south-facing garden's unbridled views of the North York Moors are something special. So make the most of the garden furniture, sit back with a glass of your favourite tipple and enjoy each other's company whilst soaking up the spectacular panoramas.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A luxury cottage that was a part of former stable block which has been renovated to a exceptionally high standard.. In addition to the well appointed property there is a friendly pub almost at the bottom of the garden serving excellent food and beer. Great to also be able to do so many lovely walks straight from the cottage. Highly recommend .

The cottage was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. The location was fabulous, in a beautiful valley and with the added bonus of a pub over the road. Highly recommended!

A luxuriously appointed cottage, very stylish interiors with a spacious but cosy feel. Ideally located with a friendly country pub on the doorstep serving excellent food.

Excellent, an extremely high standard of accommodation in an idyllic setting. Staff were great, the welcome hamper was fantastic. Overall a great experience and we have already booked again for a week later this year.

Our cottage is part of an excellent renovation of a former stable block set in a lovely quiet dale. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. A short wander (50 yards!) to the very friendly and homely, village pub, which is obviously the heart of the local community. We had a lovely week.
