This spacious house is a short walk from the family’s 500 acre working cattle and sheep farm. The town of Okehampton is two miles away and has many shops, pubs and restaurants for guests to visit. Cycle hire is also available in Okehampton with door-to-door delivery if required. The house is also an ideal place to base oneself while exploring the villages and wild landscapes of Dartmoor. It is possible to take an organised tour of the filming locations on the moor for the recent feature film ‘War Horse’. There are nearby places of interest including Two Bridges, Widecombe in the Moor, Lydford Gorge, Castle Drogo and Buckland Abbey. Plymouth, Exeter and Torbay are also no more than an hour’s drive away.
Inside the house, the large lounge features an open fire (logs included), TV, Freeview and DVD. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave. There is an adjoining dining room with table, dresser, TV and seating. The games room features darts, table skittles, a pool table and TV. Also on the ground floor is a sun lounge with coffee table and soft seating. Upstairs, there is one master bedroom with a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room, plus one king-size bedroom, one double, one twin and one single. The bathroom has a shower over bath and a WC. There is also one further WC on the first floor, as well as one on the ground floor.
At the rear of the property is a large enclosed garden which is level, making it perfect for outdoor games. There is also seating. Short walks through the lane on the surrounding farmland and lakes are also allowed. There is ample parking provided at the property.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
