Take time to unwind and switch off from day to day life in this outstanding location in the Cairngorms National park, with your own private hot tub and sauna for a memorable stay.

This lodge is nestled amid the spectacular scenery of the beautiful Glen Clova valley. The area has an abundance of wildlife and offers a wealth of outdoor activities, Munro bagging, walking, biking, loch and river fishing for salmon and trout and deer stalking. With an array of mountain ranges, lochs and country tracks to explore. Travel a little further to the historic famous town of Kirriemuir. That was the birthplace of J M Barrie, author of Peter Pan and Bon Scott of the Rock group ACDC. Golfers will also be delighted with the area boasting a number of fantastic local and links courses, including the championship course at Carnoustie.

Stepping inside, take off your coats and boots and head through to the warm and inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where there is an impressive double vaulted ceiling. Put your feet up and snuggle up with something good on the TV/DVD. Rustle up a meal in the kitchen area with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine and enjoy the result at the nearby dining table. There is a further twin bedroom which also benefits from an en-suite shower room and WC. Lastly the indoor sauna is a real treat and will soothe those legs after a day hiking.

Outside you dine alfresco and spend your days relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying the surrounding scenery. There is ample off-road parking.

The picturesque valley of Glen Clova, one of the five Angus Glens is a paradise for nature enthusiasts, with the valley strewn with rare alpine flowers and golden eagles soaring overhead in the rugged mountains. Pack your camera and binoculars for rambles through the glen. Follow the path from your lodge to Loch Brandy (1.5 miles), offering excellent views across to the East Grampians. You can even try your hand at trout fishing from the banks if you choose.

Walk or cycle to Corrie Fee National Nature Reserve (3.5 miles) and explore the many rare plants that grow on the cliffs and in the gullies, including purple saxifrage and Alpine blue-sow-thistle. Follow the 5km Corrie Fee trail to the edge of the Glen Doll forest; spot roe deer as you wander along the banks of Fee burn and navigate the path through the glacial boulders that dot the corrie floor.

Well worth a visit is the popular town of Kirriemuir (14.5 miles), the birthplace of J.M. Barrie, author of the much-loved childhood story, Peter Pan. See the original costumes and manuscripts from the first-ever performance of the tale and discover how his childhood inspired his writing. Walk up Kirriemuir Hill, past the large standing stone to Neverland Park where younger guests will enjoy exploring Captain Hook’s ship. Absorb the fabulous 360-degree views from the Camera Obscura and pause at Barrie’s grave in the hilltop cemetery.
