This cottage is situated on a working farm with great on-site facilities and excellent nearby attractions, so whether you simply want to relax or get in the car and explore, you’ll enjoy your stay.

The popular seaside town of Ilfracombe is only five miles away from the cottage and has many shops, pubs and restaurants for visitors to discover. Surfers will love the golden sandy beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton, whilst the rugged beauty of Exmoor is a must for hikers. This perfect family cottage is situated on a 20 acre farm and is 1 of 5 holiday properties on the complex and offers a unique holiday experience with so much to see and do off and on site!

As you enter this cottage you are immediately wowed by the stunning exposed beams and huge windows flooding the space with light. Conveniently the property is mainly laid out on one floor, the main attraction being the lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area has a TV, DVD, Freeview, video player, Hi-Fi and a wood burner perfect for snuggling up on those cooler evenings. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine, whilst the dining area has a table and seating for six people so all the family can gather around. Leading off of the lounge you will find a small hallway with the wet room, equipped with WC and a spacious double bedroom. Also on the ground floor there is a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom and WC. A staircase from the living area leads up to a galleried double bedroom with stunning exposed beams but privacy is assured by full length drapes.

Outside, there is an enclosed patio area with garden furniture and lovely farmland views. Disposable BBQs can be bought on site.

Onsite activates –

-Meet the farm animals, (many of which are rescue animals), such as horses, alpacas, pigs, donkeys, rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs and ducks. This holiday offers a unique chance to let children enjoy nature in a farm setting, thanks to the toddler friendly pets corner with pond dipping and animal handling.

-Craft sessions which can be tailored for all ages. But for guest over the age of 13 why not try your hand at stained glass, bottle craft and glass painting. (available at an additional charge) One free taster craft session for all new guests is available outside of school holidays.

- Indoor play barn (shared) with pool table, table tennis and other games, perfect for those with a competitive streak.

-Library that is well stocked with books, children's toys and videos for everyone to enjoy.

-Outside play area with swings and slide.

-Riverside picnic area (shared) and ample farm walks.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A lovely cottage on a working farm in a lovely part of the West Country, with lots of places to visit and walks to do within a short drive. The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable. A wood burning stove was very welcome as October more chilly. The owners were very welcoming and very relaxed. We will be returning.

What an absolute gorgeous cottage set in idylic surroundings. Very close to Ilfracombe and surrounded by wonderful countryside. Sally and John were very friendly and approachable and made sure you had a great holiday.

We had a lovely time at Grain Cottage and the family were all very friendly. Kids loved feeding the animals and they had a great games room and DVD library!
