Boasting International Dark Sky Reserve status, escape to this charming cottage for around the clock adventures; perfect for a romantic retreat or an escape from the hustle and bustle.

Walk out of your door and onto well-trodden paths along the canal for a gentle stroll towards a handful of tasty eateries. Or jump on your bike and take to The Taff Trail which runs for 55 miles between Cardiff and Brecon. When you run out of steam head back home and fire up the wood burner as you settle down in the lounge area. Two and four-legged guests can sneak out into the enclosed garden for a breath of fresh air or take a moment on the balcony for some peace and quiet.

Walk the pretty garden path and enter this terraced cottage through the kitchen/lounge/diner. Set in an ornamental fireplace the wood burner throws heat into the space so you can curl up on the sofa and switch on the TV in comfort. The well-equipped kitchen is a bright space with natural light flooding in through the patio doors. Perfect for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts you can throw off muddy boots and hang up your coats in the entrance porch; if you get caught in the rain make use of the electric clothes drier, too. The first floor is home to the master room, bathroom with shower over the bath and access to the balcony space, ideal for a morning brew. Head up to the second floor and find the single bedroom with sloping ceiling and far reaching views across the valley to The Allt Mountain.

Welcomed by blooming florals on entry, the charm continues to the rear of the property as you step out into the enclosed garden. Take a seat on the patio furniture in the sheltered area . A BBQ provides a welcome treat in the summer and the onsite bike storage is a great extra for those looking to cycle their way around the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The cottage was exactly as described. It was extremely clean and tidy and very comfortable. Books, videos and jigsaws were provided and the kitchen stocked with equipment for a fully self catering holiday. The location was perfect for local pubs and as a base for exploration. With a canal running through it it was also perfect for short strollsRead more along the river bank. Very friendly little village. Hide
