Nestled in a peaceful tranquil position down a quiet country lane, this charming spacious, period cottage is perfect for a romantic retreat, with wood burner ideal for cosy nights in.

This beautiful property is perfectly positioned on the World Heritage site of Hadrian’s Wall. Spanning 84 miles coast to coast across the North of England, the largest Roman monument in Europe. Walkers and hikers will be delighted with direct country trails from the cottage, across Hadrian’s Walk. Relax and enjoy the magnificent views and lazy evening star gazing, in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The picture postcard village of Brampton is close at hand and the city of Carlisle is within easy reach. Touring distance of the Lake District, Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Visit the Roman ruins at Housesteads, Birdoswald and Vindolanda. Or enjoy a trip to and the ancient woodland at Gelt Woods and Talkin Tarn Country Park.

Enter the charming, single-storey cottage into the hall, through to the light and bright spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The comfortable lounge area with wood burner, ideal for cosy nights in, is also the perfect place to relax and enjoy your favourite TV program or perhaps watch a movie after a day out exploring the local area. There is also direct access from the lounge though the French doors out to the rear garden. The kitchen area is well-equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Enjoy a meal in the lovely dining area, taking in the splendid views over the rear garden. Next you are met with the beautiful, spacious king-size master bedroom, with wonderful views over the garden and surrounding countryside. Completing the accommodation is the stylish shower room with shower and WC.

Venturing outside, you will find the fully enclosed rear garden with seating area. Ideal for al fresco dining and to enjoy the views over the beautiful countryside, perhaps with a good local ale or a nice glass of wine. There is also an abundance of wildlife and birds that visit the garden. There is ample off-road parking directly in front of the property.

A beautiful and peaceful location which was highly appreciated by us both and our dog who spent lots of her time in the very safe garden. The views were wonderful and the air clean and fresh. The cottage was very nicely decorated, well maintained and very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Decent size TV and a DVD Player with a supply of DVDs. The owner Simon was very friendly and helpful. A good sized enclosed garden with beautiful views. Interesting walks right on the door step

Really lovely cottage, well equipped and super garden with gorgeous views. Main room is dual aspect so beautiful countryside in both directions. Owner was friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Great cottage for walking and visiting the main Roman sites on Hadrians Wall. Short drive to Brampton for shopping.

The property was perfect for us and our small dog. The owner was very friendly and helpful. His dog Ted made friends with ours and they had a great time playing in the garden. Situated in a quiet rural area with beautiful views all around and lovely walks both from the cottage and within a short drive. Will definitely be back.

What a beautiful corner of the world! It was truly a joy to open the curtains each morning and have the countryside for breakfast. The location of this very charming cottage gave us the peace and tranquility we were looking for. The owner couldn't have been more welcoming and we followed his recommendations in all things.

We enjoyed a lovely week at Hadrian's Wall Cottage. I don't remember such attentive and caring hosts - a huge thank you to Simon and family for making us feel so welcome. The cottage was exceptionally clean, tidy and well placed for us. Nothing was too difficult for our hosts and they were extremely friendly. The cottage is just fantastic, ideal for walking the wall or just sit looking at the fantastic views from the garden the birds on the bird feeder are more entertaining than the tv we never seen so many woodpeckers, the owners are brilliant never in your face but there if you need any info. 5 STAR..

This cottage is obviously cared for with lots of love by the owner - there are homely little touches everywhere, from the birdwatching binoculars in the living area to the sweet little cushions on the very comfortable sofa. Excellent cottage in a very quite, rural location with great views in all directions - just what we were looking for. The owners (and a couple of other families) live close-by, which means you don't feel too remote. Inside, the cottage was homely and spotlessly clean with some lovely welcoming touches (flowers on the table, wine in the fridge, log Read moreburner all set and ready to light). The cottage has lovely views from the patio door and Hadrian's Wall path is only a few metres away. The main Hadrian's Wall sites are only a few minutes drive away. The fully enclosed garden was ideal for our dog and we all enjoyed the many walks. The cottage has plenty of room considering it is only one bedroom and is dog friendly.
