This property is located on a working sheep farm in the picturesque Devonshire countryside, within walking distance to two lovely country pubs, which make the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal, or cosy up with a pint. Dartmoor is just a short distance away, offering scenic walks, cycling routes, horse riding, and bouldering. Eight miles south of the property, the village of Bigbury-on-Sea has a beautiful sandy beach, with access across to Burgh Island at low tide, either on foot or by sea tractor. Within a thirty-minute drive of the property, the historic city of Plymouth offers boat trips, the National Marine Aquarium, and the waterfront Barbican district with its Mayflower Museum, arts centre, and a choice of pubs and restaurants.

Guests entering this attractive, single-storey property, will find themselves in the light-filled open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where a cosy wood burner keeps the lodge lovely and warm, even in the coolest winter months. The sofa makes a comfortable place to relax, and perhaps enjoy a film on the TV/DVD. The kitchen area is located at one end of the room, beyond the wooden dining table, and is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, and washer/dryer. A curtained doorway leads to the pretty bedroom with a beamed ceiling, and double bed. The wet room, which is located beyond the bedroom, offers a shower and WC.

Outside, there is an attractive patio garden with seating and a BBQ, to the front of the property, with stunning countryside views. Guests should note that there is a small pond next to the patio, so caution should be exercised with any dogs. There is private off-road parking provided.

This was a perfect cottage and I can see how nice it would be in the summer. It is in a perfect location for all things Devonian. We stayed there for the New Year to visit family in Ivybridge so it was a perfect location. Very quiet. The owner is very friendly. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you.

Fantastic few days away in this lovely cottage. We had a very warm welcome on arrival and the cottage was really clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting and watching the lambs in the field in front of us with a glass of wine! The cottage is brilliantly located to explore the beautiful Devon countryside and coast and the owner recommended tRead morehe most fantastic walks for us to go on. Would most definitely recommend this cottage to anyone. Thanks for a lovely stay. Hide

Lovely comfortable cottage for a couple - very bright and sunny and felt very homely. It was cool in the evenings so we lit the woodburner which made it very cosy. Excellent location for exploring the South Hams. We had our dog with us - & everything worked out well - ate in the Anchor Inn local pub - great staff & food made us very welcome.

A lovely cottage in tranquil surroundings but within easy driving distance to civilisation if you want it. We went to escape the fireworks (for our dog) and it was perfect for this. The cottage is clean, well equipped and very cosy with the wood burner. Would recommend reading the directions provided before arrival.

Lovely, simple and cozy cottage very well placed to explore south devon. Chris had some great suggestions for local places to visit and where to eat. He even changed a flat tyre for me..above and beyond! An enjoyable week.

A lovely little cottage with great views. The location was ideal as it was not far from the A38 making it easy and quick to travel around the area to the many sites and attractions but it was not so close that you were aware of it in the property. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The only down side was that the owner is renovating the next Read moredoor barn and was doing construction work using noisy power tools all day Sunday and Friday. A bit of a shame as other than that it was quiet. Hide

Perfect for the two of us. Close to A38 meant easy to get to Plymouth or further afield. Very good food in local pubs in Ugborough and Rattery. Friendly and helpful owners close by if needed (they werent) but not intrusive. Lovely coastal walks a short drive away. Comfortable cottage with everything we needed.
