Situated on the outskirts of the south west side of the Dartmoor National Park, this charming property promises a lavish retreat as well as a great base to explore all that the county has to offer.

The historic town of Tavistock is within a short walk of the barn, with an array of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Tavistock being situated on the outskirts of the Dartmoor National Park, means you are not too far from some of the most breath-taking views, walks and cycle tracks Devon has to offer. Heading south you have the regional capital of Plymouth which offers an array of amenities, not to mention its wealth of day trips, the historic Hoe, the National Marine Aquarium, Theatre Royal and much more. Family attractions nearby are Pennywell Farm, Southwest Segway, Woodlands family theme park and The Dartmoor Mystery Treasure Trail.

The delightful barn conversion is situated within the owner’s grounds which is renowned for its beautiful scenery and trout fishery.On entering this split-level barn, you are greeted by the light and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The kitchen area is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, coffee machine, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, and you don’t even need to do the dishes as there is a dishwasher to do the work for you. The lounge area which is accessed via a small set of stairs is a great space to sit back, relax and watch a movie or two on the TV/DVD after a long day of exploring the local surroundings, or, if you still have the energy why not have a game of tennis on the Wii. Heading on up to the first floor there are two bedrooms, one super-king-size (which can be made up as a twin on request) with a TV and one double with a TV. You will also find the bathroom here with a shower and WC. Down to the lower ground floor you have a double bedroom with TV, patio doors leading out onto the garden area and an en-suite shower and WC.

Venture outside to the small enclosed rear patio area, where you will find the hot tub, private BBQ and garden furniture. There is off-road parking available for four cars with this property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The cottage provided everything we needed for an enjoyable family get together. Our six year old loved the animals and the swings in the trees. The fact that there was easy parking was a bonus for us and visitors was a bonus.

Absolutely wonderful cottage in a peaceful and beautiful location, with warm and very helpful hosts. Dont forget to do some trout fishing on their picturesque lakes, great family fun. Lovely pub on the doorstep. Perfect place to explore Devon from. Highly recommended.

Comfortable cosy well equipped cottage on really lovely site just outside of Tavistock ( Scottish walk to centre). We were 4 adults one 17 year old, but this would also suit a family given the number of animals etc. Very very convenient for Dartmoor or coast. Very friendly and helpful host.

A very comfortable, detached, well equipped property with very private terrace and hot tub. Our family of five enjoyed a very pleasant holiday. Very close to Tavistock, with swimming, walking and cycling nearby. Very quiet, scenic location overlooking a trout lake. The owner very pleasant, helpful and accommodating.
