Set in stunning surroundings with outstanding views, this lovely cottage is ideal for exploring the spectacular coast and glorious countryside of this tranquil and picturesque part of Northumberland.

This traditional cottage lies in the hamlet of Middleton, near the village of Bamburgh, on the breathtaking Northumberland coast. You can see the spectacular views of Holy Island of Lindisfarne from the property and you can be at the causeway within 20 easy minutes drive from here. Just a mile away is the village of Belford with a local well equipped Co-Op store, local history museum, several pubs and Sunnyhills Farm shop with popular restaurant. The cottage lies between the bustling market town of Alnwick, with its famous castle and gardens, and the historic border of Berwick-upon-Tweed. You will also be close to the Cheviot Hills, ideal for truly amazing walks and stunning scenery. The popular seaside and country villages of Seahouses, Beadnell, Low Newton, Craster and Wooler are all within easy each.

On entering this delightful cottage you will be welcomed by a traditional hamper full of local produce, along with prosecco and chocolates to help you settle in. Walking further through the property you will find the cosy and welcoming lounge, with plenty of comfortable seating and a feature stone-built fireplace housing a traditional wood burner (with unlimited logs provided). There is also a Smart TV  making this an ideal space to relax in at the end of a wonderful day. Heading into the charming stone-flagged kitchen/diner, you will find a lovely dining area with a farmhouse-style table with bench seating. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need, including a Smeg double oven and induction hob, a large, retro-style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and toaster. There is a small utility space off the kitchen with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Exploring the ground floor further, you will find the small prettily furnished single bedroom with views of the garden and countryside. There is also a shower room with a walk-in shower with a grab rail and WC. Heading upstairs you will find two further cosy bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and glorious views towards the coast and Holy Island. This bedroom has a well equipped, fully tiled en-suite bathroom with a double headed shower over the bath and a WC. The third bedroom is a comfortable twin bedroom with en-suite WC. This bedroom offers lovely woodland views.

Stepping outside, you will find an enclosed lawn garden with a stone-flagged patio area which affords excellent  views of the countryside and beyond. There is a further enclosed patio area outside the back door, along with the log store and storage for bikes. You will also find a great log cabin style Games Room, complete with pool table, table football, dart board and an iPod dock, with great views and electric heating. There is ample off-road parking available for two cars inside the gated driveway.

There are several steps up to the back door and one small step, plus the threshold to enter the front door.  Because of the cottage style rooms and narrow bedroom doors, this cottage is not wheel chair friendly.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Location was ideal - short walk to local pubs and shops, and a short drive to Bamburgh castle and holy island which you can see from the property. Cottage was larger than expected, clean, warm and welcoming. Garden is secure if youre travelling with dogs. 400 characters doesnt do this cottage justice! I will be returning!

Everything has been thought of at the cottage, it is really comfortable, one en-suite bathroom and a separate showroom; both a large. The views from the cottage are brilliant. The garden has been made secure so dogs can be let of leashes under supervision. Communication with the owner is brilliant

The cottage is really lovely, comfy beds, a cosy log fire if its needed and a well equipped kitchen. We had a lovely basket of treats waiting for us and the hosts are kind and helpful. The setting is beautiful, looking out towards Lindisfarne and within easy reach of Bamburgh and the coast. Its of the nicest cottages Ive stayed in.

Delightful well equipped cottage in a lovely location. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The welcome pack was especially appreciated plus the welcome phone call from the owner after we arrived. Thoroughly recommended as it's one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in.

This was undoubtedly one of the best holidays weve ever had (and Im 42). The cottage was amazing, Pam was superb, the location was brilliant and the weather was wonderful. Weve stayed in many cottages but this was the best. The kids have loved it - I mean, a huge games room, how good is that?!!! This cottage is just the best. You honestly dont needRead more to read any more reviews, take it from me, its fab. In fact, Ive just booked to go back for my brothers 40th! Hide

This is the best equipped and designed cottage we have ever stayed in, perfection. Waking up to look out over Holy Island is wonderful. Everything you could want, the kitchen/dining area is large enough to accommodate our large cage for Dug and Matilda (pugs), excellent customer care from the owners all round.
