If you want peace and quiet you will find it hard to beat Lake Retreat. It is the quietest place we have ever stayed, just the occasional tractor noises from adjoining farms during the day which is what you should expect in the country. It is however not too far by car to local shops and amenities for all essentials. Only a twenty minute drive to BRead moreude as well. To say our stay at the lake retreat was amazing is an understatement: the owners were friendly and helpful, the lake was outstanding, wonderfully isolated, lovely interior, etc. We were able to see a kingfisher and we heard owls late at night! A great place to stay, would visit again.
