Spacious and stylish barn, a great couples’ hideaway in a quiet countryside location where privacy is assured. The beaches at Bude and Westward Ho! are just a short drive away.

The property is situated through a gated entrance at the end of the driveway and just over a mile from the Devonshire village of Shebbear with its own pub and village shop. There is plenty to see and do within a 30-mile drive of the property, including the traditional harbour town of Bideford, where there is an interesting array of independent shops, and from where it possible to take a boat trip out to the wildlife-rich island of Lundy, with its resident seal colony. The privately-owned, traffic-free village of Clovelly is also nearby, as are the sandy beaches of Bude and Westward Ho!

Stepping into the property, which is all on one level, you’ll find the entrance hall with room to kick off your shoes and hang coats. You will soon be drawn to the open-plan living space which has a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and a warm and welcoming feel. Underfloor heating adds to the cosiness and the comfortable furnishings beckon you to relax. There is a large Smart TV where you can enjoy your favourite TV show or a movie. The kitchen area is well-equipped with everything you will need to cook up a feast or snack, with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. A dining table and chairs with ample room makes mealtimes a breeze and is also handy for board games, cards or just to plan your next day's adventure. Across the hallway is the spacious bedroom with a double bed, and the bathroom completes the accommodation with shower and WC.

Heading outside, there is a private, enclosed courtyard area with garden furniture, BBQ and fire pit, an ideal spot to enjoy al fresco drinks or meals in the warmer months. Dogs must be kept on a lead when outside of your private courtyard area. Ample parking is provided.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We would like to thank Steve and Dawn for a wonderful holiday. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic holiday. The location of the property is private and secluded, while still only being 30 minutes drive from Bude and Instow beaches. We highly recommend this property to others and hope to stay again soon.

Stayed for three nights the first week of June. Excellent accommodation furnished and fitted out to a very high standard. The garden area was ideal for our dogs to roam around knowing they would be safe. Ideal for couples wanting a relaxing & quiet break in lovely countryside.

Cottage was beautiful, well equipped and the owners very welcoming. Great location, most things in the area are within a 30 minute drive. The only thing to note is that the Wi-fi signal is really poor. This may be what you want, just thought itd be nice to know beforehand. We recommend this cottage and would stay there again when visiting the area

A fantastic holiday cottage, will definitely be coming again. The hosts are lovely and where quick to ask if the cottage was warm enough and if there was anything we needed.
