Traditional fishermen’s cottage occupying an enviable location overlooking the busy working harbour in the English Riviera town of Brixham, with shops and restaurants a short walk away.

This property is located overlooking the harbour in the seaside town of Brixham, one of three towns clustered around beautiful Torbay in South Devon. The heart of Brixham is its harbour, and visitors may like to take to the waves and enjoy one of the boat trips that takes tourists on trips around the bay, if they are lucky they may even see one of the dolphins that has been spotted from time to time. Staying on dry land there is plenty to see and do in the town, from the beaches, to the shops, restaurants, and the self-guided walking trail which allows visitors to follow in the footsteps of the town’s infamous pirates.

 

On entering this fishermen’s cottage, guests first come to the lounge which occupies the whole of the ground floor. This spacious room is dominated by the stunning views of the harbour which can be enjoyed from the comfortable sofa and chairs. There is also a TV, DVD, and hi-fi here for guests to enjoy. Stairs lead down to the lower-ground floor where the dining room and kitchen are located. The exposed stone walls in the dining area add to the cosy atmosphere of the room, which has a dining table seating four and a door which opens out onto the patio. The kitchen is well-equipped and offers a microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine. Returning to the ground floor, open-tread stairs lead to the first-floor where the bedrooms are located. The first of these is a spacious twin room with a large picture window giving splendid views of the harbour, whilst the second room is a cosy double. The shower room is also on this floor and has a walk-in shower and WC.

 

Outside, to the rear of the property, there is an enclosed patio with pretty, whitewashed walls and patio furniture, allowing guests to enjoy alfresco meals or drinks whilst watching the boats coming and going in the harbour below. There is free roadside parking available in the street outside the property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • There are many small winding streets that are not suitable for cars.

Great location, magnificent views and good value for money. The property is on three levels so quite quirky with lots of charm but perhaps not suited to anyone wanting to avoid steps both inside the cottage and outside in the alley. We were very happy with our choice but felt that there should have been some basics such as soap, washing-up liquid aRead morend perhaps a few essential food items already there upon our arrival. Lovely fisherman's cottage fantastic views of brixham harbour, clean and tidy and I would go again really enjoyed quite few steps town to get to the harbour but good exercise after having a meal out .

This quirky and cosy cottage is in a gorgeous location and the perfect place to explore beautiful Devon. Brixham is very hilly and the cottage is set on a stunning but very steep vantage point over the harbour. 83 steps down to the harbour and the cottage is on 3 floors with quite steep internal staircases so for anyone who struggles with mobility Read moreit could be tricky. A pleasant cottage on 3 levels. The living room and one bedroom have double aspect views of the harbour. A short walk down steep steps leads to the harbour front. Coastal path easily accessible at either end of the harbour

Fabulous views from all three floors. The cottage is quite basic but warm and comfortable. The setting is not for the faint-hearted, with a very steep climb from the harbour up lots of steps and very narrow roads for parking and driving but those views....

Well equipped cottage in a lovely location, with stunning views over the harbour and across Torbay. Lovely seating area to watch the harbour with a glass of wine in the evening. Lovely spacious cottage with fantastic views of the harbour day and night. Cottage was everything we expected and a great place to unwind. Although lots of steep steps and stairs it is worth it for the views and location for Brixham harbour - and it helps to walk off all the lovely ice cream and food available in Brixham !

What a lovely cottage. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. It was far nicer than expected and the views were spectacular. The cottage is very nicely decorated with some lovely features like the porthole in the kitchen. Very comfy and spacious. It is a short walk to the harbour. This house is in an excellent location with regard to views of the Brixham harbour and far reaching sea views. Interesting property spread over 3 floors. Parking outside the property is not possible, but there is on street parking nearby.

A lovely old cottage on 3 floors, views to Die for from the living room and bedroom. The cottage was well equipped. The stairs are quite steep due to the age of the property if staying with young children I would recommend a stair gate to avoid any possible accidents.

Typical fisherman's cottage with great views. For anyone with mobility problems this is not the ideal property owing to the number of steps externally to get down to the harbour
