Perfect for thrill seekers with rock climbing and canoeing at Symonds Yat, Go Ape at Mallards Pike and mountain biking throughout the Forest of Dean and Black Mountains across the Welsh Border. Whatever the time of year you’ll be spoilt for choice with a vibrant events calendar, for foodies, festivals to include Abergavenny and Forest Showcase festival, for music lovers many of the smaller villages host festivals throughout the summer months. Not forgetting the Hay-on-Wye festival and Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Climb the steps and enjoy the views across the valley before you step inside, this traditional stone cottage is set into the hillside. The kitchen offers a warm welcome and is situated to the rear of the cottage with brightly coloured units and solid wooden work tops. Its well-equipped with an electric range oven and hob that fits perfectly into the chimney breast along, a microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The room has been finished with a wooden table and chairs, ideal for enjoying a morning coffee and planning the day ahead. To the front of the cottage is a cosy lounge with wood burner (available from end of September 2019), large sofas, TV and large sash windows that offer views across the valley. A set of wooden doors open onto a wooden framed porch, simply perfect for a lazy afternoon with a good book. Also, to the front of the property is the dining room with feature fireplace and wooden floors, a table and chairs with seating for eight and views across the wooded valley. There is a bathroom with shower over bath and WC on the ground floor. So, when the day is done climb the wooden stairs where you will find the four bedrooms. Two doubles to the front of the property, both with feature fireplaces and glorious valley views. There are two further bedrooms to the rear of the property one with two single beds(which can be made up as a double on request, must be stated at the time of booking), the other has a trundle bed. Completing the first floor is the bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC where you can enjoy a good soak and enjoy the view of the woodland
Step outside, the cottage is surrounded by an enclosed terrace, there is a seating area with table and chairs and charcoal BBQ. Roadside parking available.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
