This is an idyllic Tudor cottage in a beautiful location. The village is small and friendly and the property overlooks the mere so has a beautiful view. Take care if you want two private bedrooms because one bedroom is a converted landing with access to the downstairs. This is fine for children but may not be private enough for a couple.

The cottage was really amazing, I've stayed at many cottages over the years, but this one was outstanding, no detail was too small, fresh flowers in every room, chocolate gateau, eggs and bacon available, small things that made you feel welcomed. This is a thatched cottage with a difference and I would recommend it to anyone.

Lady Hanmer is a wonderful host. She couldn't do enough for us. After my daughter said in passing that she'd never tried a turkey egg, Lady Hanmer turned up with fresh turkey eggs for breakfast the following morning. The cottage renovation works are exceptional; and it's in a perfect spot for a relaxing break.
