Admire the rich history and unique ambience on offer in this stunning and expansive Elizabethan Manor, ideal for celebrating a special occasion or simply to take time out to relax in peaceful privacy.

Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, this striking sixteenth century manor house is grade II* listed and located in a peaceful and private location opposite the local church, making it the perfect base from which to explore this wonderful area. The nearby towns of Honiton and Axminster offer a good selection of shops, pubs and cafes, where you can sample local delights including the famous Devonshire cream tea. For lovers of the outdoors the surrounding Blackdown Hills are the perfect backdrop for all manner of pursuits, or why not take a trip to the stunning Jurassic Coast and enjoy a long walk, or simply relax on one of the many picturesque beaches.

A large covered porch leads you to an original Elizabethan door, which is the main entrance into the house. From here you are met with a hallway leading firstly to the stunning great hall on your right. This room is the perfect space in which to enjoy dining with the whole family, whilst being surrounded by wonderful period features. A door leads into the cinema room, where you can settle down in front of a good film on the Smart TV. Back across the hall is an inviting lounge, which has a beautiful inglenook fireplace with space here for the whole family to stretch out, why not play a board game and relax in front of the wood burner. Heading back into the hallway you will find a useful separate WC and the kitchen. The kitchen is well-equipped for contemporary living, with a range style electric oven and induction hob, fridge and dishwasher. You can find a smaller fridge in the pantry. The utility room adjoins the kitchen and contains a washing machine, tumble dryer and a freezer. Heading back into the entrance hallway you can take one of the three staircases rising to the first floor. Here you will find the beautiful long room, used for taking exercise in a bygone era and now home to a library of books with comfortable seating ideally placed to enjoy them. Next there are two comfortable super-king-size zip-and-link bedrooms (which can be made up as twins on request). These two rooms both offer a TV and share a bathroom, complete with hand-held shower over roll top bath and WC. Continuing around the first floor landing you will find a separate WC before coming to a striking bedroom with four-poster king-size bedroom with a stylish en-suite shower room and WC. This room interlinks with a super-king-size bedroom that is also accessed by a separate staircase. A further super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a twin on request) offers lovely views of the church opposite. There is a shower room shared between these two rooms, with shower and WC that completes the accommodation. Across the courtyard on the ground floor there are two freshly renovated bedrooms.  The Summers Room has a super-king bed and the Oliver Room has a super-king bed that can be split in to twins.  The Oliver Room is currently accessed via the Summers Room and they share a bathroom with walk-in shower, making these rooms an ideal space to be shared by a family. This versatile accommodation is quirky in layout, with many changes of level, beams and low ceilings, giving a hint to its age.

Heading back downstairs and out through the entrance hall you will find the courtyard that the house encircles. This charming space is fully enclosed and the ideal spot to relax with your morning coffee. From the rear hallway, adjacent to the kitchen you can access the expansive garden with rolling lawns, an outdoor swimming pool (available June and September) and a tennis court, this sociable space is perfect for fun filled afternoons with the family. To the front of the property is an off-road parking area suitable for six cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
