Plan your day in the sun-trap garden, coffee in hand. Take a lovely country stroll or embark on a coastal adventure to settle into the holiday spirit in style.

Less than a mile from the sea, this well-appointed property is within easy reach of a multitude of family and dog-friendly activities. 1.5 mile from Golden Cap, mesmeric views are only a short stank away. Climb to the top and bask in the panoramas, unscrewing a flask of hot tea as you find the best vantage point. Only 3 miles from Bridport, head into town to pick up supplies and check out the eateries, or for languid afternoons on the beach, Seatown is less than 1 mile from your doorstep.

Sat at the end of a no-through road, this property provides a relaxing bubble away from the blur of city life. Taking a step down into the lounge, let your eyes train over the welcoming space with sink-into sofa and armchairs and handsome original fireplace. On rainy days and cosy evenings, mum and dad can light the wood burner and gather snacks while the kids expertly navigate the TV controls to find a film for the family to watch. Located next door to the lounge, pop in and out of the kitchen when your bowls empty and glasses run dry. Well-equipped with everything you could need and affording lovely garden views, the kitchen has all sorts of mod cons and appliances to make meal preparations easy – and the clean-up too! To reach the first floor, take the steep, cottage-style staircase with handrail, where you will find the three bedrooms - a double and two singles. The family bathroom is also upstairs (accessed via one step up), which has a bath with shower over and heated towel rail to keep your towels nice and warm.

To the rear of the cottage, you can enjoy the enclosed garden with table and chairs. Step onto the patio in the morning, hands wrapped around a steaming mug of coffee, and listen to the chorus of birdsong. Beyond the garden, the lane gives way to a bridleway that leads you to the village pub and beach at Seatown.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We travelled as a couple plus one dog and had a good holiday despite the mixed weather. Great location, short walk to either the village or the beach, with decent pubs at both. Old cottage is charming, but comes with steep stairs and low door frames. However ceiling height is fine throughout. Lovely secure garden with stone wall was perfect for ourRead more small dog to wander unattended in. Parking was ok for one small car. Double bedroom was a good size, but two singles were small, fine for us two. Hide

Comfortable and clean and perfectly situated, just 15 minutes walk to the beach and good access to country walks. We have been back 3 times and hope to visit again next summer.

Mill Lane Cottage was warm and cosy. It was quiet and very peaceful and we felt immediately welcome and at ease. There were wonderful walks from the cottage itself, into stunning countryside. Dorset Coastal Cottages were friendly and helpful when we were arranging our stay and arrival. Perfect!
