Enjoying a peaceful location within the owner's grounds, this single storey retreat is perfect for couples wanting to enjoy the Herefordshire countryside and market towns.

In the heart of Herefordshire, you are free to roam within the grounds where you will meet the owner’s sheep and goats. A network of well waymarked footpaths is ideal for walkers, while winding country lanes enable cyclists to discover neighboring villages and hamlets. You are well placed just a short distance from the market town of Leominster which is renowned for its local antique and curiosity shops, perfect for a relaxing browse, and a short drive leads you to the beautiful cathedral city of Hereford. The thriving medieval market town of Ludlow is within easy reach as well and is a haven for foodies with a regular large local produce market and an abundance of excellent restaurants, some of which are Michelin-starred. Ludlow also offers a medieval castle and a host of events and festivals throughout the year. For bookworms, the literary town of Hay-on-Wye with its world-famous annual festival is easily accessible too. You can find many National Trust properties and gardens open seasonally within a 20-minute drive, including Berrington Hall, Brockhampton Estate, and Croft castle. A little further afield, walkers can discover the Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountains, and the stunning Elan Valley with its visitors center.

Set within the owner's grounds and surrounded by rich pastures and meadows, you’ll start to unwind as you travel up the driveway. The property is tucked to the side of the owner's home, offering a private entrance and friendly welcome from your hosts. Step inside the small porch where there is a place and remove your boots after a day exploring. The porch opens onto the lounge, a spacious though cosy space that has been beautifully finished with local artwork and electric furnishings. A wood burner takes centre stage and is perfect for a chilly autumn evening. For dining, a summer room with views onto the gardens and countryside where you can enjoy a simple supper or morning coffee with the papers. The kitchen is set of the lounge area, a well-equipped space with electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge with ice compartment. When the day is done you will find a king-size bedroom, where you can enjoy a peaceful night’s rest amongst the soft linen. There is an en-suite shower and WC.

Outside there is an enclosed garden including a BBQ and a patio with table and chairs, and you are also free to wander the meadows within the grounds where you can meet the local farm life. In the evening, you can take a glass of wine up to the elevated platform and watch the sun go down with the panoramic views across the Welsh hills. There is off-road parking for one car and a lockable shed for bike storage.

Mistletoe Lodge was just lovely, very comfy, spacious, well equipped and with lovely views, the best cottage weve been to. Jewels and Mark, the owners, were so friendly and welcoming, there was shortbread, eggs and home-grown vegetables on our arrival and fresh flowers in the rooms, just lovely. Very relaxing, peaceful week.

This well equipped, comfortable cottage is up there as one of the best we have stayed in. The wide open views from the patio area were beautiful on a warm summers evening with a glass of local cider. The owners Jewels and Mark are so welcoming and happy to help with information about the local area, as well as making sure we had everything we needeRead mored. The lovely touches of dog treats, delicious home bakes, and homegrown vegetables and eggs were so nice to find on our arrival. Many thanks. Hide

We would definitely recommend staying at this cottage! Jules and Mark were friendly and accommodating. The cottage is light, bright, immaculately clean and well equipped. It has open beautiful views in a quiet location. Our daughter particularly liked the chickens and Pygmy goats. For us adults there was plenty in the local area to explore.
