  • Located on the Devon/Cornwall border, ideal for exploration and a short drive to sandy beaches and the region’s top visitor attractions
Property code: MONKR

Detached barn conversion, enjoying a tranquil location on a working cattle farm, close to the Devon/Cornwall border, and just a fifteen-minute drive from a choice of beautiful sandy beaches.

This property is situated in the Devonshire countryside, yet is only eight miles from one of Cornwall’s most popular seaside resorts: Bude. Here guests will find a choice of sandy beaches, one of which has a lovely tidal pool, providing safe bathing whatever the weather, as well as a mini-golf course, and a range of shops and cafes. Exploring a little further along the coast, visitors will come to the picturesque fishing village of Boscastle, King Arthur’s Tintagel, and pretty Port Isaac.

The majority of the living space in this barn conversion property is located on the ground floor, including one of the bedrooms: a double room with an en-suite shower and WC. The lounge offers a cosy space in which to relax, with its slate floors, comfortable seating, smart TV, DVD, hi-fi, and patio door which leads out to the garden. The kitchen/diner, situated off the lounge, is a light and airy space which is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, and dishwasher. The second bedroom is a spacious, galleried twin room, which is also able to accommodate a cot with another smart TV and DVD. This room also benefits from a handy en-suite WC, so there is no need for guests to traipse up and downstairs during the night.

Outside, there is a private enclosed garden with patio area, which is where guests will find the wonderfully relaxing private hot tub, where they can lie back and enjoy the peaceful surroundings whilst gazing over the neighbouring fields. (Please note that the hot tub is for adult guests only) There is also a BBQ and garden furniture provided, so alfresco meals can be enjoyed during the warmer months.

Other facilities onsite include: two fishing lakes which guests can arrange access to; a private games room with a pool table, table tennis, a TV/DVD with a selection of Disney DVDs, a fruit machine, an electric organ, and a table football table; tractor rides; and farm walks. Guests may also be able to feed the chickens and visit farm animals. There is ample space for off-road parking on the farm.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A wonderful little cottage that is located perfectly for getting in the car and exploring Devon and dipping into Cornwall. Nice and quiet even though on a working farm and the owners were helpful and were there if you needed them. The hot tub and games room were brilliant and a lot of fun to use. Nice also to walk around the surrounding areas with Read morethe dog and explore neighbouring villages. Fully recommend and will return. Hide

Fantastic cottage, brilliant location. It was near enough to the beach but also far enough away to not be surrounded by tourists. The host was great, very polite and helpful

We have been having our holidays here for years. The people that own the cottages are very friendly. We have tried other places for holidays but keep coming back this cottage. Our dogs now feel they own the place. We started using the cottage when my son was very young and went on to take his friend then his girlfriend. We still enjoy the cottage wRead moreith just our dogs for company. The cottage is like a second home. Really near to Bude and local beaches that are dog friendly. Hide

Lovely cottage, in lovely location. Cottage was cleaned and prepared to a high standard - very welcoming and dog friendly. Games room and hot tub were added highlights, as well as plenty of lovely fields to walk the dog in on the farm.
