Situated in a small hamlet in the North York Moors, there are 600 square miles of stunning, heather-coated countryside waiting to be discovered by foot or by car

Boasting original features such as a Victorian cast iron range, this handsome farmhouse, approx. 8 miles North of Kirkbymoorside, is steeped in history but still has many contemporary touches to ensure your stay is a comfortable one. Within the National Park, there are also plenty of picturesque market towns and villages with tearooms, cafes, pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, including foodies' haven, Helmsley (14 miles), and Pickering (16 miles).

Once you've appreciated the attractive exterior of this cottage, step inside where you'll find a spacious kitchen/diner with all the mod-cons to ensure you can cater for all your needs. The underfloor heating will keep your feet warm, but for more heat, head into the cosy lounge to snuggle up in front of the wood burner with a good book. The simple, elegant furniture creates a contemporary cottage style, making it easy to relax. Stone floors, warm woods and neutral tones throughout make it light, airy and spacious. For washing off muddy boots or paws, there is a convenient utility room downstairs as well as a vast family bathroom with a roll-top bath and separate shower. Upstairs, there are three generous bedrooms (one king-size, one double and a twin), once again lovingly decorated in a simple, sophisticated style. There is a further bathroom on this floor with another bath and separate walk-in shower.

Outside, there is a large, lawned garden, which the kids and four-legged friends will love running around. For those looking for a more sedate holiday, the stone patio is the perfect place to sit back and soak up the rural tranquillity of the surrounding countryside.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Well its all about the location really This hamlet is in the middle of the moors , the access road is like a scary ride in a fairground ! But if your confident driving on narrow track then the cottage & location is worth it ! Mid February was perhaps risky , we could have got snowed in but we didnt ! The cottage is beautiful especially the bedroomsRead more and bathrooms The lounge could be more comfortable with nicer armchairs , 6 adults would struggle to sit round and watch tv together Hide

The cottage was sparkiling clean, very well equiped and very comfortable. I have already recommended it to friends. We had a great long weekend celebrating my husband's 70th birthday. We had lovely walks and spent some pleasant time drinking well-kept beer in the pub 5 steps across the raod.

A really lovely cottage which has been tastefully done with large bathrooms and a cosy living room. We had a great few days enjoying the stunning scenery and walks from the door as well as the local eateries.

This is a lovely well appointed cottage in a wonderful location. We enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing stay mid September and a bonus was having a pub a few steps away which served good meals with friendly and welcoming hosts.

Beautifully appointed cottage in a lovely location with stunning views and access to the moors. Relatively isolated but with a pub opposite and easy travelling to Kirkbymoorside, Pickering, the wonderful market town of Helmsley and Whitby & the coast.
