This property is in a secluded setting on the edge of the fishing village of Staithes, with its places to eat, harbour and sandy beaches, there’s everything you need to enjoy a great holiday including an onsite bistro/café. Staithes is home to an art gallery as well as a small heritage centre, offering an insight into the life of former resident Captain James Cook.The large and lively seaside resort of Whitby is located just a short drive away. As well as the walks to be had in the surrounding grounds, there are plenty of great places to roam nearby. The Staithes to Rutland Bay path covers cliffs and woodlands, while there are numerous routes leading out onto the North York Moors.
This property comprises of three properties, each with its own external entrance. The main building, the heart of the property, welcomes you into the farmhouse kitchen/diner with everything you need to rustle up a hearty meal or come together around the farmhouse table, equipped with electric range oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. Head through to the lounge, which offers a cosy wood burner and comfortable seating to curl up and watch the TV after a day of exploring.The dining room is the perfect place for that celebration dinner, with four tables and enough crockery for a three-course banquet. The dining room has beautiful glass doors that lead out into the garden and let the light flood in, and for any musicians there is a piano to entertain your fellow guests as they dine. Also, on the ground-floor is a double bedroom with en-suite shower and WC. The property has two staircases to the first floor, one leading to a triple bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC, a double bedroom and bathroom with bath and WC.The other staircase leads to a further double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with bath and WC and a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom with bath and WC.
An adjoining self contained cottage is accessed via its own external entrance, on the ground floor, there is a second lounge with comfortable seating and TV, a great place to relax, and in the second kitchen you will find an electric oven and hob, fridge and microwave. Also, on the ground-floor, there is a further twin bedroom with en-suite shower and WC. Heading up the stairs to the first floor is a double bedroom and a bathroom with freestanding bath and WC.
Further sleeping accommodation can be found in the annexe, to the left of the main residence, this forms part of the owner’s property and is perfect for those who want to enjoy the history and charm of this space. This is accessed through your own external door, the entrance leads up the stairs to the first floor where you will find a further three double bedrooms, a single bedroom and two bathrooms with bath and WC.
The property offers a spacious garden with patio, seating and gas BBQ. The main entrance is accessed through a Pendulum Garden which is planted in a cottage garden style. The location is surrounded by private farmland, woodlands, walkways and an ancient moat. There is ample parking available.
There are ongoing renovations close to, but not directly affecting the cottage – the owner ensures any works are considerately timed so that they do no disturb guests.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
