Beautiful first-floor apartment in a beautiful country house, located in the village of Far Sawrey and enjoying easy access to scenic walks.

This apartment enjoys a stunning location in the quiet village of Far Sawrey, where visitors will find a local pub, the Cuckoo Brow Inn with its roaring fires, seasonal menu, and local ales on tap. Of course, the real draw of the Lake District is the magnificent landscape, and many scenic walks can be enjoyed directly from the front door of the apartment, including a footpath which leads to the summit of Claife Heights, with its purpose-built viewing platform and unrivalled views of Lake Windermere.

Guests will immediately get a sense of just how special this property is, as soon as they enter the grand hallway with its imposing staircase leading up to the apartment on the first-floor. The main living space in the apartment itself is a stunning lounge/kitchen/diner with large bay window affording spectacular views across the countryside to the mountains. There is plentiful seating here and a 40" Full HD Smart LED TV with built in Freeview, DVD, CD, and DAB radio. At the other end of this space, a lovely open fire can be found in the kitchen area, for which fuel is provided. The kitchen is well-equipped with an oven, hob, fridge, and dishwasher, as well as a dining table for enjoying family meals. The master bedroom suite has a queen-size bed, chandelier, Smart TV, and en-suite shower room with WC, but most impressive here are the panoramic views to Lake Windermere, surely one of the most fantastic views to wake up to in the region. There are two further bedrooms: a twin room which can be made up as a super-king-size (if requested at time of booking), thanks to its zip-and-link beds, and an attractive single room which is located in the house’s tower. The spacious bathroom has a bath with handheld shower and WC.

Outside there are extensive shared landscaped gardens with plenty of space to relax and, again, stunning views. A footpath leads directly from the grounds up to Claife Heights. There is off-road parking for two cars. Guests also have the added benefit of complimentary membership to the Burnside Spa in Bowness to enjoy during their stay. The spa is located in the Burnside Hotel and is complementary to guests, featuring a stunning pool with atmospheric lighting, two hot tubs, sauna, and steam room, making it a truly indulgent experience not to be missed.

Wonderful views from the living room and front bedroom. Walks straight from the door. Wonderful lake walks. Property has beautiful gardens and is dog friendly. Comfy for 4 adults. Very well equipped.

Lovely old property set in attractive grounds with a view of lake Windermere. The general location was perfect. There was easy access to local hikes as well more famous walking close by. The chef at the local pub, a short walk from the property, was excellent, so we enjoyed superb meals after our hikes.

Beautiful setting with glorious views. Good location 200 yds to Cuckoo Brow Inn for great food (very dog friendly!) Some lovely walks from the property. Close to the ferry to Bowness-on-Windermere.

An absolute delight in terms of location. Truly peaceful and relaxing. Stunning views from and all around and lovely walks to do from the property. The garden was lovely and blissful to sit and hear the birdsong. Definitely a place to go and unwind and switch off.
