Property code: NPOAK

One of a pair of wonderful holiday properties found on a diverse and fun 50-acre site complete with friendly farm animals.

Found in a quiet and attractive part of Kernow with rolling countryside and farmland, a craggy coastline and fast rivers. The property enjoys some panoramic views over fields to the ocean from the first-floor windows. The situation is perfect for exploring Cornwall and North Devon; taking in the many sandy family beaches including Widemouth Bay (ideal for surfing), which is less than 3 miles by car. You will also be close to the many attractions which include the Bude sea lock and canal, Hartland Quay, the Eden Project, Clovelly Village, Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor and much more. The area is well-known for its fantastic walks namely the South West Coast Path. It’s easy to see why so many fall in love with North Cornwall.

Employing the increasingly popular and practical inverted design, this former barn retains much of the original charm, incorporating some features into its layout. On arrival, you will encounter the bedrooms first; one double and one twin. The third bedroom is accessed via an open-tread staircase from the ground floor. This attractive galleried double is curtained off from the staircase. On the first floor is an open-plan social area that includes a lounge, dining area and a kitchen. There is also a bathroom containing a shower over bath with WC. The lounge area centres around a TV/DVD, a hi-fi, and a wood burner to unwind at the end of a day’s touring in front of. Wood is supplied (one basket) between October and April, although logs are also available to purchase on-site. The kitchen area comes equipped with an oven and hob, a fridge freezer, a microwave, and a dishwasher. Laundry facilities are available by arrangement. The property also has a sunroom with seating, giving access to both the patio and the shared gardens.

Step outside the property into the shared garden, where the property has its own picnic table and a handy BBQ too. There is also ample off-road parking. For children, there is a shared outdoor play area, and guests are encouraged to the explore the grounds and see the various animals that live there, including the donkey, ponies and chickens.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely cottage. Very clean and cosy and Gill was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Location is good - a short drive from Bude and several other beach towns, with a convenient campsite shop and cafe 2 mins walk away - only thing is its next to the main road, which is a bit noisy. Value for money seemed fair but not cheap so I gRead moreave it 3 stars. Kitchen was very well-equipped and there was a lovely log burner which was very cosy. Overall a lovely stay. Thanks Gill! A lovely and comfortable cottage to explore North Cornwall. Gill & Jim were great hosts and cottage had little extras like washing up liquid etc. Children enjoyed being able to play football outside.

This is the second stay we have had at North Penlean, and it was lovely again. The location is great for exploring, with Boscastle and Bude being close by. The cottage is well equipped, and nothing was too much trouble for Gill, and we were given lots of toys to keep the toddler occupied! We managed to see the horses and the donkey in their field aRead morend the chickens and ducks were a firm favourite. Hide
