This beautiful detached farmhouse offers plenty of space for a relaxing stay, with hot tub and games facilities to ensure that the whole family are kept entertained, whatever the weather.

Positioned on the edge of the popular village of Cromford which offers an abundance of amenities such as, pubs, restaurants and shops. Guests can explore the countryside on foot along the various routes that lead from the doorstep, including the famous High Peak visitors centre, the Cromford Canal, and the High Peak trail leading to the Black Rocks and Tissington Trail. Within a short drive from the property, guests will find themselves at the gate of Chatsworth House parklands and Haddon Hall. For an afternoon of exploring, the pretty market town of Bakewell on the River Wye is a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Situated next to the A6 and easily accessed via the M1 motorway or the railways station of Belper, Matlock or Whatstandwell this property is a great base for exploring the natural beauty of the Peak District National Park.

Enter the property into the farmhouse kitchen with the main features being the stunning oil Aga and an electric Aga cooker module, there’s no need to worry about the washing up as there is a dishwasher to do the work for you. Just off the kitchen, step down into the utility room with fridge/freezer, and plenty of cupboard space. The spacious lounge with high ceiling offers comfortable seating, wood burner and TV/DVD. The lounge leads through to the conservatory with dining table which is the perfect space for dinner overlooking the garden. Also on the ground floor there is a spacious, twin zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a super-king-size on request) which has a beautiful high ceiling, there is also a shower room with toilet on this floor. Head upstairs to the first floor where you are immediately met with the twin zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a king-size on request), there is also a handy WC next door. Head up a few more stairs to the bright and airy king-size bedroom. Across the hall there is a shower room with WC and basin. Next door to the shower room is a bathroom with roll top bath and his and hers wash basins. The final room is a beautiful, super-king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom with bath, WC.
Outside, there are a selection of outbuildings, the games room offering pool table, table football and dart board. A drying room with washing machine and dryer, the perfect place for wet coats and muddy boots. There is also shower block with two shower cubicles and WC, which is perfect for showering off before and after a soak in the hot tub. There is also plenty of space on the patio for lazy summer evenings and relaxing with good company.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Oak farm had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. It is perfectly located for walking and cycling... Literally across the road from the High Peak Trail. A well equipped property with everything you need for a relaxing break with some great star gazing from the hot-tub! The property is well situated for walks and local attractions. Eating locally is limited however there are lots of good pubs within a 20-30 minute drive and Matlock Bath is just 10 mins away if you enjoy fish & chips! Great location for walks. House is comfy & cosy yet with plenty of room for all. Cromford is about a 30min walk from the house along the canal, but if you want to go for long walks there are plenty, we found a different route every day. Great house, great stay, great walks.

We loved Oak Farm and would definitely return again. We came as a family group of 8 with ages ranging from 84 to 9 with 2 dogs and we all enjoyed our holiday. Beautiful scenery and good location for visiting other places and attractions. The house was very clean and had everything you needed Everyone enjoyed the hot tub. Beautiful farmhouse, warm and homely. Had every kitchen utensil you could possibly need in the many cupboards. Very comfortable sofas and beds and a lovely private garden and hot tub to relax in. Well positioned for local shops, nice walks, cycle rides and places to visit. Lovely location with an abundance of walks and cycling routes on your doorstep. Great private enclosed garden which was great for the dog. The greyhound hotel did a lovely Sunday lunch and Stones in Matlock is definitely worth a visit. There is road noise as mentioned but only really noticed it when we were in the garden .

Party of eight adults, one infant and two dogs. Overall the accommodation was good. Having a large dinning table so everyone could sit together for meals and games rounded of our day Only the size of the blue bedroom is very disappointing. Lovely property for our girls weekend away. We stepped out the door onto the nearby canal for some walks. We also popped into Matlock and enjoyed lots of time in the hot tub.

With regards to the property everything was well equipped with plenty of crockery and cooking pans of the right sized for the number the property accommodated. The welcome pack was superb. However the hot tub only fits four whilst the property sleeps eight.

Great spot for a relaxing weekend with a group of friends. Nice walk directly out of the cottage to Cromford. The cottage is well equipt and has lots of bathrooms - perfect for a large group of ladies! We enjoyed the hot tub and the large comfy sofas were perfect. Great property which provided very flexible living. Very clean with good equipment. Our party included grandparents a toddler and a puppy so quite versatile. The road noise did present problems especially with toddler and broken sleep

8 ageing adults and young active dog all had an amazing time. Fab walks along the canal...up on the Peaks..Abrahams Heights ..caves and cafes and then recovering in a perfectly heated hot tub. What not to like? Hundreds of equally old mad motorcyclists in Matlock Bath added a new dimension!

Fabulous holiday cottage. Clean and spacious with a lovely, enclosed garden. Easy access to the Cromford Canal by foot and only a few minutes drive from Cromford village, Matlock Bath and Matlock (or further afield as you wish).

Very comfortable and spacious, games room an added bonus if the weathers poor. Good walks in the area. The hot tub could have been a larger on for the size of house. The only down side is its situated right next to the very busy A6, very noisy from 4am onwards. Spoilt our stay a little.

We had a lovely time and location is brilliant for walkers. Right next to high peak junction. The road is busy but the traffic noise did not impact us at all. Perfect holiday cottage! Very well equipped even dog throws and towels also towels for the hot tub!!!! The cottage was spotless and the beds were the best we have ever slept on!! Loved the games room too!

Fantastic venue for a family holiday. We loved the hot tub, games room and log burner. We struggled a little bit with the Aga but soon made sense of it. Great location close to beautiful walks and a small town. Will hopefully be back again in the future!
