This property is located in the popular seaside town of Ilfracombe on Devon’s north coast. The town has two beaches: a small rocky beach and a larger sandy one, Tunnels Beach, which, as the name suggests, is accessed via a network of tunnels cut into the rock. This is a particularly picturesque beach, popular with families, which also benefits from a tidal pool, allowing safe bathing, no matter the conditions at sea. The town also has an interesting aquarium, and, just outside the town, a family-friendly theme park which is situated in the grounds of the 19th century Watermouth Castle. In recent years, the town has gained famed thanks to its connections to the artist Damien Hirst, who chose Ilfracombe as the location for his huge sculpture, Verity, the largest statue in the UK.
Entering this property, guests take the stairs to the main living space on the first-floor. A spacious lounge/diner takes advantage of the elevated position, with its views across the town and out to sea, which can be enjoyed from the comfortable sofas, as well as from the dining table. There is also a TV/DVD in this room, so guests are able to keep up with their favourite programmes, and also keep an eye on the all-important weather forecast. There is a second lounge in the property, which takes the form of a cosy snug room, which has an additional TV/DVD and sofa beds. The kitchen has gorgeous countryside views and is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher, whilst washing machine can be found under the stairs on the ground floor. All three of the property’s bedrooms are located downstairs, all offering tastefully decorated, restful spaces to sleep and relax. One of these is has a king-size bed, whilst there is also a double room, and a twin which can be made up as a super king-size on request prior to arrival. The contemporary bathroom has a shower, a separate shower cubicle, and a WC.
Outside, there is an enclosed patio area to the rear of the property with seating, offering a place to enjoy alfresco drinks. There is parking for one car on the driveway and additional roadside parking. Secure bike storage is available in the garage, where guests will also find the tumble dryer.
