Thoughtfully and beautifully presented single storey property with easy access to historic Morpeth town and the castles, beaches and wonders of this stunning area. Perfect for a family or couple.

You can relax in this cheerful property knowing that the owners have thought of everything to make your stay a happy and memorable one. With the historic market town of Morpeth and its great choice of shops, pubs and restaurants less than a mile away, you can enjoy some quality time out close by after your days out and about exploring the fabulous Northumberland coast and countryside. Nearby visits to The Alnwick Garden and Castle, Rothbury and the Simonside Hills, the coastal villages of Amble, Alnmouth and Craster, as well as trips over to the Farne Islands and Holy Island are just a few of the choices on offer plus, you can catch the train in Morpeth for a day trip to the vibrant city of Newcastle’s city centre.

You access this warm and welcoming, single storey property from the front door and into the bright hallway. The lounge is on the right overlooking the front garden and has a comfortable sofa which is also a sofa bed for an additional guest and there is a second, smaller sofa where you can all settle back and relax. There is a warming feature gas fire and for your entertainment, there is a TV/DVD. The immaculate kitchen/diner/family room is light, airy and spacious and has everything you need to make and enjoy a meal in together, including a gas hob, an integrated electric oven, walk-in larder with a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There is plenty of crockery and cutlery including a set for children and space to store your own food and drinks. The dining table is positioned near the French doors overlooking the rear lawned garden and there is another comfortable sofa where you or the children can sit and watch TV while dinner is being prepared. Outside, you have access to a separate utility room with a sink and a clothes airer – ideal to use as a boot room and somewhere to store and dry your outdoor gear. There are two bedrooms; the master bedroom a super king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into a twin upon request). There is plenty of storage space for your things including a sliding door wardrobe with internal drawers, as well as bedside drawers, a chair, a hairdryer and a long mirror. The second bedroom has a set of standard size bunk beds and a large wardrobe. The luxury family bathroom is beautifully tiled, and the owners provide toiletries for your use during your stay. There is a shower over the bath, WC and an illuminated mirror. There are useful USB charging points in the property and the walls are adorned with lovely, original artwork from a local artist.

Outside, at the rear you can extend your days relaxing or playing out in the south-facing, enclosed garden on the gently sloping lawn. There is a corner spot with a patio table and chairs which is a sheltered ‘sun trap’ and ideal for morning coffee, al fresco dining or evening drinks.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The cottage was perfect and cosy. Well equipped with everything you need. The beds are very comfortable. Location is perfect for town but it is positioned at the top of a hill! We would return if in the area again.

Olives cottage is in a very quiet cul-de-sac only a 20 min walk into the centre of Morpeth, with all its shops and restaurants/takeaways. It is a perfect base to explore both Morpeth and the surrounding areas. It is spacious and thoughtfully kitted out and has everything you would need for a comfortable stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

Lovely property in a great location for accessing and exploring Northumberland. Beautiful garden which was perfect for our dogs. The property is really well presented, clean and comfortable. Even the neighbours are friendly! I would definitely recommend Olives Cottage.

A perfect place to explore the surrounding areas. Location in a pretty town with lots place to eat, shop and nice walks. The bungalow it self is very well look after, Very clean And has everything you could possibly need. Oh and the best Comfortable bed Ever!!! Will definitely be returning

The cottage is located just a short walk from the town centre and a short drive from local beaches meaning it is perfect for families. The cottage is well equipped with everything a family would need and the owners have thought of everything. Olives cottage was a perfect choice. It was like staying at a very expensive boutique hotel, but with the ability of self catering. Perfect location for us and our little one, with days out within an hours drive. We highly recommend it.
