Good location for walking without having to go in a car first. Also an easy 10 minute walk to Porlock main street for shops pubs etc. The house is very clean and nicely furnished and the heating system is easy to use if needed. It is good for the winter to have the woodburner in the living room. The conservatory is lovely and light for reading etc.

Great location, close enough to enjoy the north Devon beaches but far enough away to avoid the crowds. Convenient for coastal walks, pubs, tea rooms etc. Exceptionally clean. We didnt cook during our stay so I cant comment on the cooking facilities. Very comfy beds, spacious bathroom. We recommend Exmoor Adventures and Gallery cafe at Porlock Weir and the Nartnapa Thai restaurant at Lynton. Hide

We had a fabulous time at the house. The upstairs rooms were quite roomy as was the rest of the house except for the living room. Only 5 seats for 6 people. The boiler went on the blink but when we rang someone was there within the hour and the engineer came and fixed it the next day (could happen anywhere). On the whole we had a fab holiday. Good location in wooded valley with plenty of walking directly from the cottage, there was a useful booklet of local walks provided. The upper terrace had sun on it in the mid-late morning, but was still nice to sit on in the afternoon as the weather was warm while we were there. Delightful cottage tucked away from the main village centre up a narrow roadway. Built into the hillside so has a lot of steps but offers lovely views and total peace and quiet. Everything you could need for a holiday (home from home). Access to several local walks from the doorstep, local shops and village centre about a half mile away.
