Set within Dartmoor National Park and nestled within a beautiful hidden valley, this property offers peace, relaxation and the perfect base to explore the moors and south coast.

Although the cottage will feel like it is in a different world, a pub is just a ten minute walk away with a large selection of shops, restaurants and cafes in Bovey Tracey. The forest, surrounding the property, is a haven for wildlife and offers a range of walks straight from your front door. Tottiford, Trenchford and Kennick reservoirs are all within walking distance or a short drive away with National Trust properties nearby. Easy access onto Dartmoor highlights such as Haytor, Houndtor and Widdecombe-on-the-Moor. Visit beautiful coastal locations such as Teignmouth, Shaldon, Torquay and Dartmouth. The cathedral city of Exeter is just a 30 minute drive away or why not take a scenic railway journey there from Newton Abbot train station.

1 of 3 properties within beautiful Dartmoor National Park sleeping four guests, this cottage forms part of the main original 19 th century farmhouse.  It  offers an open plan lounge diner and new kitchen for 2020 on the ground floor, and two bedrooms and a contemporary bathroom upstairs. The main bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has bunk beds (this room can be offered as a single bedroom on request). The living room area has a wood-burning stove (with a free supply of logs) in addition to central heating throughout the house and spacious walk in shower room. Wi-fi is available and the cottage has a 32-inch Freeview TV and DVD Player. If you choose to stay in and cater for yourselves, the kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge with small freezer compartment and a microwave.

Outside, at the back of your cottage is a private courtyard with dining furniture, accessed by the French doors from the lounge or via the side gate. A further bistro seating area can be found at the front of the property along with large gardens to explore with additional seating areas with wood burning stove right by the stream. The games barn (new for 2019) with cinema system, has bi-fold doors which can be fully opened in good weather and a large wood-burning stove for the cooler evenings. If you bring dogs with you there is a dedicated fenced paddock area they can enjoy. Mica, Josephine and Lulu live in a small paddock beside the main driveway to the holiday cottages.  As guests at Greatrock you will be welcome to visit the alpacas whenever you like and a personal guided walk with the alpacas can be arranged during your  holiday for a fee (please contact the owners directly if interested once your booking is confirmed).

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We thoroughly recommend Primrose Cottage the location is beautiful and Sarah and Kenneth couldnt have done more to make us feel welcome. The Cottage had everything we needed including an incredibly comfortable bed.

The cottage is cosy and well equipped but its the beautiful trees, flowers , river, gorgeous spaces and wild life that provide peace and quiet both inside and out.

This cottage was absolutely perfect for our week away - the games room, with its log burner, was brilliant and kept us all amused in the evenings. The hosts could not have been more helpful and even went out of their way to drive us and two dogs to the local garage when our car broke down!

Cottage is in a perfect location, rural but with plenty to do. Accommodation was spotless and dog friendly. Walks on the door step and added benefit of an amazing games room on the farm. Hosts were helpful and provided all we needed. Will return.

It was a beautiful cottage in a very picturesque area. The games and cinema room is fantastic. I will definitely be returning and next time I would definitely bring my dog. Very welcoming and an overall great stay!

We had a fantastic time at this cottage. Lovely peaceful location but easy to get out and about. Great facilities at the farm. We loved the games room and had our own cinema nights with the projector screen. Brilliant when the weather isnt being kind. Lovely walks from the site itself and very dog friendly. Primrose Cottage was a comfortable and cosy escape especially when the log fire was burning! The decor of the recently refurbished cottage was to a very high standard. Lovely cottage in the wilderness, the property is tidy and clean and well stocked. Scones on arrival is a nice touch. The kids loved the games room, kept them entertained on a day when it rained.

Sarah, Ken and the dogs were extremely welcoming. The property was lovely, very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The games barn is fab! The small touches made us instantly feel at home, beautiful fresh flowers, a delicious cream tea and treats for our dog! The property is in a valley surrounded by woodland and beautiful views. Sarah and Kenneth have done everything to make you feel welcome. The cottage is nicely furnished - comfy beds - and well equipped. The gardens are lovely, the games room amazing. Table tennis, pool, darts, books, puzzles, table games, CD, DVDs - even guitars to have a session. So no need for kids to be bored.

The cottage was very well equipped & comfortable. The owners seemed to have thought of everything, even providing plenty of wood for the log-burner. The property sits in a valley & very secluded, good walking in the area & excellent for doggie guests.
