Spacious, comfortable house in beautiful surroundings, a short walk from Hay. All rooms were well equipped, including plentiful supplies of towels, toiletries etc, and full, clear information provided about appliances, heating etc. The owners were very friendly and helpful - even giving us some apples from the orchard and freshly laid eggs from tRead moreheir hens! The lodge and its situation are terrific with views to the Black Mountains, Hay and easy access to the Wye. Ros was a great host, providing us with an endless supply of firewood on demand and providing advice of places to visit. My only slight reservation was that it was not clear on booking that they also run a "basic" campsite which adjoins theRead more garden to the lodge. It was empty when we visited, so was not an issue to us at all. Hide
