A lovingly renovated cottage with lots of extra facilities, in a fabulous location for Oxford, Windsor or London, with The Chiltern Hills minutes away and the Cotswolds reachable within the hour.

Just minutes from junction seven or eight on the M40, this beautiful cottage is in the hamlet of North Weston, a mile from the picturesque market town of Thame, where you will find a choice of pubs and restaurants as well as the leisure centre. The cottage enjoys a rural location with the bonus of a bus stop at the end of the drive for Oxford, Thame or Aylesbury. Haddenham train station is about five miles for links to London/Marylebone, Bicester, Banbury or Warwick, so whilst a car is handy for visits to nearby attractions such as Waddesdon Manor, Hartwell House at Stone or Chiltern Open Air Museum, there is plenty of public transport on hand.

Entering the cottage, the first room welcoming you is the large open plan lounge/kitchen/diner; the beautiful beams and limestone floor combine for an elegant and homely space, with underfloor heating making sure that even in winter your feet are kept warm. The lounge features comfortable soft furnishings, including a sofa bed, and a TV/DVD, the ideal space for relaxing in and watching a film after a long day of exploring. The dining table is large enough to seat up to six people, so if you decide to whip up a home-cooked meal whilst away there’s plenty of room to enjoy it together. The kitchen itself is well-equipped with everything you could need, with beautiful worktops and fitted units which make cooking feel anything but a chore ; comprising of an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine, it’s a stunning space to spend time in. There is also a WC downstairs. On the first floor, there are two spacious bedrooms full of character with beamed ceilings. The master bedroom features a double bed, TV and French doors opening up to a Juliet balcony, whilst the second has twin single beds. The bathroom also has elm beams as a prominent feature of the room, and comprises of a bath, separate shower cubicle, and WC.

Doors from the lounge lead out to the private patio area, complete with garden furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining in the summer. There is also 270 acres of farmland surrounding the property, so you won’t be short of open land to roam around on! There is ample off-road parking.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Red Kite Cottage was an amazing place to stay. Handy location for Thame, Aylesbury and the surrounding area, the facilities available were great and the cottage was very cosy. Lovely gifts on arrival including a jug of milk for a much-needed cuppa! Our kids loved their stay and enjoyed watching the sheep and playing with the toys in the cupboard. Cottage was a great place to relax. Very open , bright, plenty of seating. Furnishings were of very good quality which made the cottage comfortable and pleasurable. Beautiful views overlooking the fields with sheep , pheasants and Kites in abundance . Would recommend this cottage.

Very comfortable and pleasant cottage on working farm. Lovely views over open country. A mile or so from the small town of Thame which has useful shops including Waitrose and Sainsbury's. Convenient for visiting a wide range of attractions, including Oxford, Windsor, Woburn Abbey and many others.

The cottage is in a lovely spot on a farm. It is well named as there are lots of Red Kites which even as a keen birdwatcher I found fascinating to watch. The cottage is equipped with all you need and there was milk and a bottle of wine in the fridge. Shower door was too narrow for me as I am a large chap so used the bath. WiFi is included which wasRead more good. I think a bigger tv would benefit for little cost. Would highly recommend Hide
