A stunning selection of properties offering lovely accommodation in an area criss-crossed with spectacular walks. Set around the old farmyard, these properties look out across far-reaching rural views. Located in the rolling countryside near Helmsley, surrounded by farmland and a fantastic base for great days out in Yorkshire.

The market town of Helmsley offers an array of boutique shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. Ideally situated for a day in York, yet within an hour of the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey. The surrounding area offers a wealth of attractions including market towns at Kirkbymoorside and Malton, stately homes of Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall, abbey ruins at Rievaulx and family fun at Flamingo Land. The dramatic scenery of the North Yorkshire Moors can be enjoyed aboard the famous steam train which runs from Pickering (13 miles) to the ancient fishing port of Whitby.

Outside: communal area for al fresco dining with BBQs and picnic tables. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen, towels, electric, central heating and wi-fi included. 2 well-behaved dogs welcome in the properties; there are also outdoor kennels available and a dog sitting service can be provided (specific requirements to be discussed with owner). Location: beach at Scarborough within an hour, pubs 3 miles, cafes and restaurants in Helmsley 5 miles. Arrival: 3.30pm.

The accommodation is a beautifully restored barn offering TWO bedrooms (with TV's): 1 double with en-suite shower room and WC, 1 twin zip-and-link (can be made into king-size upon request at time of booking) with en-suite bath and WC. Lounge: TV, DVD and video. Kitchen/diner: well-equipped with gas cooker, fridge with icebox, dishwasher, washer/dryer and microwave. Outside: large patio doors opens onto enclosed private sun-trap patio area with seating and BBQ. Additional info: Valley View - Drey can be adjoined with Valley View - Holt to sleep 10. Guests requiring the zip and link bed to be joined as a king-size should advise at the time of placing the booking

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location was ideal for my friend and I to get out and about and was perfect for our dogs. We had a lovely, relaxing break and hope to visit again in the future

Nice and comfortable cottage in a quiet rural location. 5 miles from Helmsley along country lanes. Definitely recommend staying if you want a homely quiet location away from hustle and bustle

the cottage is warm and comfy and all you need is there , the views are nice across the fields and some nice walks strait off the drive , there is plenty of parking outside the door , plenty of information in pack, the owners are very helpful and friendly , the beds are good and Im 6`6 20+ stone and slept very well , its great at night as none of tRead morehe noise and lights of a town just lovely dark starry skys and lots of fresh air , our dogs have loved it as much as we did . cant wait to go back . Very comfortable cottage on a working farm. It was well equipped and had good quality furniture. Lovely outlook from sitting room and garden on to open valley. It is in a beautiful, very peaceful village surrounded by open country side but with plenty of attractions nearby

A lovely quiet cottage. Total relaxation from the hectic south. Beautiful scenery. Moors, national trust and English heritage places to visit and the North Yorkshire Moors railway. We stayed here four times last year.

4th visit to valley view but first in Drey. We will be going back everything was excellent. Cottage very clean and welcoming with all the mod cons. Ideal for our disabled son. Very friendly farmer and his family.

We have stayed at Valley view farm several times. This time we were in Drey a lovely cottage for 4. It was lovely to be back in Old Byland again and we will definitely be back.
