Beautiful cottage situated in the heart of Exmoor National Park, this cosy cottage is perfect for a small family getaway to the countryside.

This delightful former stable groom cottage is located in the small town of Withypool, sitting in the heart of the stunning and dramatic Exmoor National Park which offers a fantastic range of breath-taking walks with spectacular views. You can walk Tarr Steps in the heart of Exmoor and enjoy the sights of the beautiful wooded valley of the River Barle. There are also opportunities for horse riding and fishing nearby. A short drive away is the glorious North Devon coast, with its picturesque views, sandy beaches, charming seaside towns including Porlock, Lynmouth and Lynton, the Valley of the Rocks, and the breath-taking coastal walk from Heddons Mouth to Woody Bay.

Enter into the property and find yourself in the hallway, perfect for hanging coats and storing shoes. Heading into the cosy lounge a place where you can relax after a busy day of exploring and catch up of your favourite programme on the TV, whilst the wood burner crackles away in the background. The open-plan kitchen/diner is well-equipped with electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge, wine cooler and a dining table for four. Head up the stairs to the cottages two bedrooms, the master king-size bedroom with a spectacular view and a spacious twin. Completing the accommodation is the bathroom with beautiful roll-top bath, separate shower and WC. There is an adjoining property that can be opened through a locked and sound insulated door for families wishing to travel together but have their own privacy.

Venture outside to the fully enclosed garden area which offers garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ, the perfect space for al fresco dining. The former stables, are perfect for drying dogs and storing bikes. There is an additional Fridge/Freezer and washing machine in the Tack Room. There is ample off-road parking.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Warm , doggie freindly welcome from the owners to their delightful converted stable block. Quirky furnishings and decor adding to the overall charm of the place. Fantastic deep roll top bath and super soft towels. Very happy and peaceful stay. Only sounds to be heard were the swallows nesting in the stables, the odd sheep baa and the owl in the earRead morely hours calling from the barn. We had a great week in the Stag Cottage at Bigmore. All the amenities were really appreciated and we took advantage of the washing machine and tumble dryer in the wet weather. The added bonus of the Dishwasher, was a pleasant surprise. Exmoor has been our holiday destination for the last eight years, and we always find plenty to do, but the bonus iRead mores the walks with our dogs, we always find new walks every year and revisit some old haunts too. Perfect property location to explore the local area. The owners had covered most requirements and were very welcoming. Cottage is practical and cosy with everything you need for a break away from home. A lovely cottage in a stunning location. Perfect for walkers and those with dogs. Just a short (but steep) walk from the cosy village Inn. The cottage is very well appointed with a modern kitchen and bathroom and a warming wood stove in the living room.

Lovely cottage - clean and very well equipped, in a quiet location. The wood burner we used most evenings, making the place nice and cosy. It was ideal for our two black labradors, who settled in immediately. The owners were most friendly and helpful. The moors were very close, on which we walked our dogs each day. The village was lovely, but down Read morea very steep hill, being a centre for super walks. Withypool Tearooms and the pub both did lovely food, and both dog friendly. Hide

cosy cottage well equipped fantastic location there are many beautiful walks from the door our doggies loved it so did we. The hosts are very friendly and nothing is to much trouble we will be going back.

The cottage is ideal for those you enjoy taking the family dogs with them, the rear garden is fully enclosed and large enough to allow the dogs to play. Inside theres a well equipped kitchen allowing those who want to, to cook all their own meals. Such a beautiful building, location and lovely, friendly hosts. We stayed during storm Ciara and whilst we had to endure power cuts and all sorts the woodburner was a great comfort and we felt safe and comfortable. I would really recommend this as a break. Me and my partner needed a bit of time away (3 nights) but by the end we could of moved in! We both had such a warm and friendly feeling from this we didnt want to leave. The cottage itself has been redone to an incredible standard. Lovely cottage beautiful finished. We went in November and the weather was wet and windy but the cottage was cosy and warm. The views were amazing from the main bedroom. The hosts were friendly showing us where everything was. Would definitely recommend this property.
