Charming detached property sleeping four guests, the coach house of the former vicarage in the North Yorkshire village of Staxton, situated just five miles from the coast and seven miles from Scarborough.

This property enjoys a pleasant village location in the Yorkshire Wolds, just 6 miles from both the coast and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The local beach at Cayton Bay is a lovely quiet expanse of sand backed by sheltering cliffs, and is home to a well-regarded surf school. For a more traditional take on the English seaside, the town of Scarborough is located just seven miles from the property and not only offers a well-appointed beach with ice cream parlours, cafes, shops, and amusement arcades, but is also home to a number of interesting and fun attractions including the Alpamare WaterPark, a Sea Life aquarium, an open-air theatre, and the medieval fort of Scarborough Castle.

Guests approach this property through the delightful walled garden before entering the house into the hallway which opens onto the kitchen/diner. Here, guests can pop the kettle on and make themselves at home after their journey and familiarise themselves with the well-equipped kitchen area where they will find an Aga, as well as a conventional oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. The washing machine and tumble dryer can be found housed in a separate utility room which also has a WC. Moving through to the lounge, guests will find an inviting space with plenty of comfortable seating and carefully chosen soft furnishings, as well as a warming wood burner, and TV/DVD. Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms, both of which benefit from their own TV, allowing guests to watch a late-night film in bed. The bathroom can also be found on the first floor, offering a shower-over-bath and WC.

The large patio doors from the lounge open onto the property’s enclosed lawned garden, where there is also a patio seating area with garden furniture. In addition to this, there is a shed and secure bike storage available for guests use, as well as off-road parking for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A central location for access to the seaside. Car essential. The property itself was lovely and cosy and we arrived to the log burner already burning which was a lovely touch. The garden was secure which meant it was safe for our dog to be outside unsupervised.

Lovely cottage very comfortable lounge and bedrooms. Kitchen fully equipped with a beautiful aga which made the kitchen warm and inviting. Completely enclosed garden which made it safe for our dog to go into on her own. Definitely a home from home cottage and highly recommend this. The owners were very friendly.

Beautiful cottage and private garden. Ideal location for our family to relax and enjoy North Yorkshire and it's wonderful coastline.

We didn't leave the cottage at all during our weekend visit. It was a perfect get away from a hectic life at home. We took full advantage of the Aga range which I would highly recommend as the food cooked on it was more succulent and delicious than anything cooked in a conventional oven. This cottage was a warm and cosy place to stay, and we were tRead moreotally oblivious to to the bad weather outside. If we had ventured out, there are loads of wonderful places in Yorkshire to visit. Hide

A lovely, well equipped ,cosy cottage. Well placed for visiting all the main attractions, coast, resorts etc. Downside for us as 'country folk' is the road noise from the A64. Not being familiar with the area we had not realised just how busy the road is and probably more so in the summer months.
