Property code: SYLVA

Romantic cabin in a quiet, rural location, within walking distance of the village of Luxulyan, just one mile from the world-renowned Eden Project.

This cabin is the perfect place to come if you want to get away from it all, situated as it is in a quiet location in the picturesque Luxulyan Valley. Located within 7 acres of meadows and traditional broadleaf woodland with a quirky hobbit hamlet and bell tents and abundant wildlife and private interactive woodland trail. The cabin is situated in its own private garden with a beautiful aspect across the valley. The location of the cabin is off a country lane which also leads to The Treffry viaduct/aqueduct of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site. The cabin lies 1 mile from Cornwall’s premier attraction The Eden Project and a little further afield, yet still within easy reach are The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the town of Newquay known for its beaches and surfing, and the pretty town of St Ives with its harbour, restaurants, and boutiques.

The magic starts as soon as you park your car, with a short level walk to the cabin through the woodland (wheelbarrows for belongings are provided for ease) leading you to the haven that awaits. On arrival at the property the open-plan lounge/diner is the main space in the cabin and is simply and tastefully decorated, in keeping with the general sense of calm here. The wood burner sits in the corner, keeping the whole place warm and cosy. The first basket of logs is provided and more can be bought from the owner who harvests them from the surrounding woodland, at a cost of £5 per bag. There is a TV and DVD. The kitchen is small but efficient, with an oven and hob, fridge/freezer, and microwave. The shower room is also on the ground floor, with a corner shower cubicle and WC. A permanent ladder leads to the snug, platformed bed, which has reduced head room due to its location in the roof space. The bed here is a king-size and a window lies behind the head of the bed.

Outside, the property benefits from a veranda and garden, where guests can enjoy alfresco meals and those stunning views of the neighbouring woodland and valley. There is seating and a BBQ out here too along with a fire bowl, making the evenings a truly romantic experience. There is parking for one car a short walk from the property itself. Arts and crafts workshops are available on site throughout the year. Bring sparkle to your Winter. Get your skates on for another Winter of ice fun at the Eden Project. The ice rink will be open until the 23rd February 2020, enjoy the seasonal activities, festive lights and explore the rainforest at twilight, just one mile from the property. (Unavailable on certain days).

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Nice cottage hidden in the woods. Felt like we had escaped the world. The wood burner helped keep us warm. The bathroom and shower were lovely, even more so when coming back from a hike.. The climb to bed in the evenings isnt for the faint hearted but overall a nice little cabin in the woods which was exactly what we were going for.

We had the most relaxing and wonderful holiday! The rooms are spacious and have everything you need. We lit the fire every evening and turned the Dyson heater on in the morning to stay nice and toasty, which our Dachshund loved sitting in front of! The log cabin is surprisingly spacious but very cosy inside, especially with the wood burner on, during chilly evenings. The modern bathroom has a large shower (plenty of hot water) & a loo with a view. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of fridge/freezer space. It was lovely to sit outside by the firepit, overlooking the pretty Luxulyan VallRead moreey & the Acorn site on which the cabin is situated, has plenty to explore. The owners, Ria & Tony are very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable Hide

A quirky cottage in beautiful grounds. The approach via lanes isn't for the fainthearted as they are narrow. The cottage has cobwebs, (it's in the woods and there are spiders) but hope the owners will address this. Well located for Fowey.

The cottage is self-contained with a good view over the valley. It is perfect for a couple. The owners are really helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay there. This is a lovely place to stay from the accommodation to the view. The widelife outside the windows in the mornings was beautiful. Had a great stay. A beautiful quirky site. Accomodation was exactly what we were looking for. Loved sitting outside in a morning, not overlooked and all you could hear was birdsong and the occasional rumbling of a train. Cosy cabin in a lovely location with great views. Wasn't quite warm enough to enjoy the best of the outside decked area. But the fire pit and log burner were well used.

Luxulyan is a beautiful woodland but if you're not a confident driver you will find it difficult negotiating single track roads & reversing to the nearest passing place. Fabulous base for Eden Project (5 minutes away) Fowey, Boddinick, Port Issac & Lantic Bay. Short drive from cabin to shops and takeaways. An hours drive from Par to the beautiful TRead morerebah Gardens with it's own private beach but can get crowded so either go early or drive 5 mins to peaceful Grebe Beach from Durgan village carpark.
