A characterful barn conversion, offering a romantic getaway for guests wishing to explore the Devon coastline and pretty villages.

Set in beautiful countryside at the foot of the Sterridge Valley, offering the perfect base to explore North Devon. Dating back to the 18th Century and surrounded by three acres of meadows and gardens at the foot of the Sterridge Valley. Berrynarbor village is only a short walk away with a local shop and a popular pub serving food. Formally a working farm, the original outbuildings have been converted to four individual holiday cottages. Close to the South West Coast path at Watermouth Bay and near to Exmoor, for wonderful walks or cycle rides. Watermouth Castle is worth a visit with theme park rides and landscape gardens. Only a short drive away is Combe Martin and Ilfracombe with its restaurants, beaches and children’s attractions.

Enter this delightful detached cottage into the hallway with stairs rising to the first floor. The pretty double bedroom with ample hanging and drawer space is on the ground floor, along with the bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Heading up to the first floor you will find the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a full-length window flooding the room with light. The lounge area has comfortable seating which includes a sofa bed suitable for a child, a TV and an electric coal effect fire to snuggle up in front of on those chillier evenings. The dining table is set for two and the kitchen area is equipped with a gas oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer.

Outside there is a small seating area next to the property with a bench and well planted pots. There is a further private garden area with mature shrubs and predominately laid to lawn. For those that prefer the shade, a gazebo is in the far corner with further seating and a chiminea. There is a shared utility room on site housing a washing machine and tumble dryer. For entertainment, the shared covered games area has table tennis and darts and a range of outdoor games are available including croquet, children’s tennis/badminton and boules. The large level cut paddock has a small children’s play area and is ideal for ball games, picnics, BBQ's and exercising the dogs. Two Shetland ponies live in part of the meadow.

The cottage was beautiful and well looked after and had plenty of outdoor space, there was a terraced gardens where you could sit and catch the sun with a play area for children which was fenced off and in a shaded area. There was also a paddock where you could exercise your dog and a beautiful lawn to sit out. Lovely escape

Had a lovely stay at the Barn, Berrynarbor. The accommodation had everything needed for a self catering stay, even a hairdryer. The cookies and milk on arrival were a nice touch. Would thoroughly recommend.
