Closer to home, the village of Bere Alston offers your local amenities, while the historic town of Tavistock is well-worth a visit for its famed indoor pannier market. Don’t miss a trip to Plymouth, where you will have your pick of a range of restaurants, bars and cafes, including those at the thriving foodie district of Royal William Yard. Other nearby attractions include the National Marine Aquarium, the Theatre Royal Plymouth, Buckland Abbey, Morwellham Quay and many National Trust properties and gardens. Weir Quay on the River Teign and Lopwell on the River Tavy offer fishing enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of angling.
Prepare and enjoy your meals in the spacious farmhouse style kitchen/diner, which boasts exposed beams and plenty of light through dual-aspect windows. Here you will find an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer, together with a large kitchen table for enjoying family meals together. After a long day exploring the local area, head upstairs onto the first floor to relax and unwind in the lounge, which has timber flooring, a woodburner, TV/DVD and rural views over the farm. The two light and airy bedrooms are located on the second floor. One is a double with exposed ceiling beams and timber flooring, while the other is a spacious triple with three full sized single bed. The bedrooms share a contemporary tiled bathroom with shower over the bath and a WC.
Step outside into the enclosed garden area to enjoy an al fresco meal using the garden furniture and BBQ provided. Depending on the time of year, and health and safety guidelines,children are invited to take part in seasonal farming activities such as feeding the lambs.
 

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A really warm welcome from Wendy and Ray on our arrival set the tone for our holiday. The cottage was very comfortable, and cosy in wet weather, with absolutely everything we required. The cottage has a unique character and charm and is maintained to the highest standard. Cottage is beautiful but has a lot of stairs, so not suitable for the less mobile. It is set in a peaceful location which is central for Dartmoor & Plymouth. There are two local railway stations nearby. The owners make you feel very welcome & nothing is too much trouble for them. We will definitely return.

The Cobbles was amazing! Hosts were really welcoming and went above & beyond to help us. We wanted somewhere that would be interesting for our 2 year old and, being a working farm, we couldn't have picked a better place. The cottage itself offered a wonderful living space, everything we needed was supplied including plates and cups appropriate for Read morechildren, and the enclosed garden was great safe space for our little boy to play in while watching the tractor drive back and forth. Ray and Wendy were the best hosts. Warmly greeting us, and the cream tea was a nice touch. The farm and the surroundings give you a true countryside feel, and the location is ideal to explore both Devon and Cornwall. The property is comfortable and well equipped.

Ray and Wendy made us feel very welcome and the cottage was lovely. It it ideally situated to explore the surrounding area and we enjoyed Salcombe and Sidmouth. There are quite a few stairs so not ideal for anybody with mobility issues. We will definitely recommend The Cobbles.
